Which do you find better? The good old games, like the original Mario Bros., Sonic the Hedgehog, Mortal Combat, ect. Or the new school games like Halo, Call of Duty, Killzone, ect.

It depends on it, i still like marios bros and spyro for the old systems, but i also like new games as uncharted, assassins creed etc. So it really depends on the game, but it's true that the new ones have better graphics, it's more real.

I rate games on how good they are...not on when they were made, or how their graphics are or what music is on them or anything else. Those things can affect it, for example if the graphics are too bad and you can't see...and the opposite as well, if graphics are TOO good and you can't even play the game because it lags like crazy to even try, that would make it bad too.

he didnt mean rating a game by when it was made. he meant that you rate games and then decide if new games got rated better. anyway i like the old games better. the graphic maybe is worse (and sometimes not that worse) but in that time they really knew what people want in video games. i cant think of a new game that has a good story like the old games and thats too bad. i guess video games companies are just trying too hard to make a game look better then to actually be better.

So you think uncharted, prince of persia, assasins creed and ratched & clank have a bad story? I think they're good. Sometimes hard to follow, but good:P That's why i like some shooting games, because of the good story behind it

Graphics aren't everything. That's just a little extra bonus.

I would have to say old. I love playing Sonic, Mario, Spyro & Mortal Kombat.
The Mortal Kombat's on the P22 were the best, especially the one where you had all the characters to choose from.
I even still play my Spyro game that I have for the playstation.

New games are nice though with extended gameplay, online gameplay, the graphics.

but there isnt a person who played all games is there? i havnt played one of those. but i dont think that prince of persia and ratchet and clanck are new either. i might be wrong though.

when you think about it new and old is a matter of point of view too right?

In some aspects, yes. However, there is a correlation between the older series and great gameplay, much as there is a correlation between newer series and technical innovation. Then there is the matter in which the older games are better simply because they were first and they had first dibs in the storyline and mechanics. As Black Sabbath was what inspired Metal, the newer games had something to look up to.

I think it's tough to compare the two. Some old games are great, such as Megaman X, Mario Bros., Legend of Zelda, etc.. They are still worth playing, but they simply can't offer the kind of entertainment newer games do. The sheer amount of data that can be stuffed into games these days is insane!

So while there are a lot of old games that are great games and fun, their age shows. Of course a lot of new games are just plain awful.

Todays games are starting to focus more on the graphics and less on the gameplay, in the old days they had the graphics AND the gameplay, you can never beat the classics and all the memories they made xD

i like the older games better. they are considered classics and they had great story lines. the new games are all killing and violent. they are not as fun to me as the older ones are.
