as you may or may not know, I'm a big fan of 1v1's. I was hoping some pros would respond to this topic so that we may have a proper discussion!
In my opinion, the best 1v1 build overall has to be the 'tdh buid/foxer build'
TDH/FOX Basically, you are Capitalist and you build bank, post, then adapt to your opponent. This works because capitalist has a resource benefit over all other governments.
Miami's Counter(or at least Miami showed me this, idk if it is his creation) This is built as a counter for the above build. You're a Monarch. Armoury first, then forge. Get a Mod. Phantom and protect it with some scouts and the odd roman. Because of the armoury you can spam loads of scouts.

Profoxer is a diamond. Only a Diamond can scratch itself. Back in the odd days there were no such gems. Back in the old days, we had a rubies and sapphires, which don't scratch eachother. yes but right noe scienctists belive that they have found a matirial stronger and sharper than dimonds... i belive i have found a way to beat foxer and if they dont go foxer to beat that as well..
but i strongly agree with this:
By going Forge first, you limit your tech path because you waste energy. i am on the verge of a way to counter foxter i think but what i am doing will remain secret incase it dose not work plus the stratergy needs a little more experience and testing/fine-tuneing i now belive that colony has become stratigic mental warfare especaly at pro leval: eg; if you make 1 spinx with alot of med the enemy is likely to stop building air. or building 2 banks and a spec opps on norm gives the impretion of you making missiles, whe you could build a few prides as monarchy to trichk them and then go back to a 2 bank forge build. and if pined with units without misile armor, they r likely to retreat those units. or if they have no units i will make them build misile resistant units plus meds giving u a chance to pin or destroy and win erly on. if you build bank then outpost then send out 2 or so tanks to halfway line, people will asume foxer and try something to counter that when infact you migh build forge next and pin with scouts and take the base down with romans before they know whats happened. you could call it the element of suprise. this works best on pros becase they know alot of strats off the back of their hand and will often jump to conclutions. i have tested what people do depending on what you build and have tested stuff out and asked some questions. i realy belive this phychological warfare realy is the way foward. this sort of strat works best on 1v1 and will increase your chances of wining 2v1 and could give you the edge to the game when outnumbered. i will be back with more deatais on phyco warfare within the week. see ya then....
1v1 EQ; post, 2 tanks, barracks, a few snipers. Never fails. And beats just post first easily. And Yos, there are a lot of builds that can beat bank post, AL came up with a few and so did Pac. Example; armory, forge, mod phantom with a few scout and romans, generator, solar, mod sakata.(Mon build) Done well, this can beat bank outpost quite easily.
well if ur playing cold war one tac that i like to use on noobs is to go bank armory put armory on money get all the way teir 3 forge (and if the people try to gain influence kill that first)then u go mod phantom and anti ground skatas with 1 aa sakata if they beat that go to the second plan with fars and bout 10 aa and rest a25s and phantoms incase of a sphinx for a25s and mass a25/marine rush for the phantoms again i have only tried this on noobs not on any pros
My personal favorite would be to build a Bank, then upgrade to a Treasury, Then build an Armory, Then build a Hospital and upgrade it to War Sanctum. Finally build your outpost and upgrade it all the way. I usually spam near 30 Hover Tanks by the time I get my fully upgraded Outpost. I usually do this playing as Fascist. Although this strategy takes time, I find it very effective if you are playing a 2v2, because your partner can normally fend off the opposing team.
killerkid wat u described sounds like something a noob would do... extremely inefficient and time consuming in a 1V1 A REAL battle wouldnt require u going past tier 2 really... fallen wat u said is extremely economically inefficient.... particularly in a 1v1...
Fallen950 the build you described is very old but one of my favs aswell, since i am not very familiar with mon builds... that build works twice as better if you are capi.
again its bank>tres~arm~hospital>warsant~outpost>barracks>arsenal then let the hover party begin you can also pull it off in a 1v1 but you might have to adapt to your opponent as most people like to pin early in 1v1s.

Endscape, could you suggest a more efficient build to use because I don't particularly use anything else but that build, and I would love to be able to use one more efficient but just as strong!
Good 1v1 build; Be Fascist, Make bank, Forge, spam some scouts and a couple of romans, make more scouts when necessary, Generator, Solar panel. (Or go straight for ops if you need missiles and influence units straight away) Spam scouts if you didn't go for ops for aa or romans with a Mod sakata. Works pretty well but it takes a lot of micro and skill to execute well against decent players.

A very good decent and strong build is the 1v1 Fascist Bank, forge, 3 scouts up 4 held back 3 romans, generator, solar panel, 10 romans 2 scouts 3 scouts, mod sak roman spam.
I personally love this build it's fun to use and strong too
