as you may or may not know, I'm a big fan of 1v1's. I was hoping some pros would respond to this topic so that we may have a proper discussion!
In my opinion, the best 1v1 build overall has to be the 'tdh buid/foxer build'
TDH/FOX Basically, you are Capitalist and you build bank, post, then adapt to your opponent. This works because capitalist has a resource benefit over all other governments.
Miami's Counter(or at least Miami showed me this, idk if it is his creation) This is built as a counter for the above build. You're a Monarch. Armoury first, then forge. Get a Mod. Phantom and protect it with some scouts and the odd roman. Because of the armoury you can spam loads of scouts.

Fast BQ build would beat this I am guessing, Bank, armoury (cash), post, generator, barracks, arsenal, change armoury to Manpower, Black queen, black queen, black queen, destroy bank, hospital, war sanc. (If you fear saint or sphinx later, keep armoury on cash, destroy bank and make a forge and upgrade to manufactory for AA, then go romans/hover tanks.

Government: Monarchy First building: Bank Second building: Forge Third buliding: Special Operations Fourth building: Generator Fith building: T3 Bank Sixth building: T3 Generator
Execution: Start off by creating a Bank by clicking on the fourth slot from the top then punching the num key 4. After you have enough M$ to create a forge do so, immediately create 3 scouts and 4 Roman A25', put your forge on energy conservation, then hold each scout iat the beggining of the third influence field, hold the romans halfway through the second influence field,(Assuming they don't react) create special operations, send out: 1 A27 Pride and 2 Special forces, fall back the marines to just behind the meditecs,advance the snipers to line up with the A27 Pride, send the meditecs just into healing range of the A27 Pride, create a generator, make 12 romans let them advance as they are, after the 12th is out click the rally option, rally 15 romans, when all 12 romans are at the base begin advancing the second wave of 15 romans, create 3 A27 Prides and advance snipers into base range, charge Special forces marines into base range, begin rushing romans forward, upgrade generator to T3 create one Modified Sakata and advance it, upgrade your bank to T3 and rush all special forces, begin creating scouts.

Did everyone evolve from the old strategies... I mean really theres no double armory builds or the fast queen tech anymore. (unless of course used by me). I laugh so hard when I 1v1 because nobody fast queen techs anymore so when I do I can get a queen before people get tier 2 forge or post. Then they call me a hacker, which I'm not, and I find it kind of funny that the fast queen tech actually works better than over half of the strategies used today. The only ones I really have problems fighting against this is mass scouts or the Far Snipe, AA Sakata build
I rarely see the fast BQ build used in 1v1 anymore, I was messing around with it yesterday though with trying and catclaws looking at which build works better (Fascist or cap build) double armoury is pretty much dead but double bank is being used more and more lately.
i usually just do armoury,post,hospital,barracks,armoury,then 3rd tier post but it's pretty slow and if enemy attacks u before u get some tanks up, i usually lose unless partner's good
