So, what do you think about Cardian? I personally liked it a lot eventough it's hard to coordinate after a while because you just get too many cards.

My strategy:
10 gold mines
3 iron mines
3 crystal mines
2 sacred pacts
2 dwarven mines

Some siege engines, portal growth and very important: repairs!

If you know, you have repais somewhere in your deck, you can afford to lose 90 lives at the beginning and you can invest all your money in mines and new cards until you have a gold income of ~30. Once you are that far it comes to your combination of summons, I went for:

4 Epics (you normally can't afford more) - Necromancer, McNeely, Taylana, Demon Knight
8 Ranged attackers (ascended archers are nice if you don't need crystals for anything else, the fire warden is imo the best card in game)
3 lancer
2 scout/runner-types
8 creeps (peasants or similar)

You can easily crush the enemies portal with a load of creeps + fire warden/necromancer, but most of the time you should try to keep creeps and rangers balanced (6:1) and use meelees for defense only.

This game needs to be MP! And it should last longer...

Has anyone yet gathered 10 siege engines? Seems like a straight forward tactic.^^

6 Dwarven Boons
1 Reaper's Bounty
3 Peasants
3 Bag of Crystals
1 Coin Purse
1 Kamikaze
You can play all cards in the first second, start spamming Peasants as quickly as possible and with some time between them so they don't kill anybody. The game lasted 64 seconds, I took no damage. (2004 gold)

Ok, try to beat that one:
4173 Gold

1240-0+151
x3

21 portal growth
5 dwarven boon
1 repairs
1 surplus requirement
1 kamikaze
3 peasants
1 legendary crystal mine
3 crystal mine
4 reapers bounty
10 gold mine

At 6min you're through the deck, able to start the standard Kamikaze-attack, at 5min you play your repairs shortly before winning.

I'm a big fan of Undefined, every game he makes entertains me without fail. This latest one is no exception and really showcases his ability to transend genres using his own unique fantasy setting. I'm eagerly looking forward to more from the world of Arkandia!

If you don't need a card, you can rip it in the browser. But be careful - if you have 10 iron mines and destroy 5 it is possible that you destroy those in the decks and you have to restock. In the beginning, tearing them apart is a good thing, you don't need more than 50 cards and you can improve your deck gradually. Once you finished the storyline it gets too annoying (I currently have 98 legendary, 167 rare, 262 uncommon and 1428 common cards and I could easily destroy over 1000 of them, but meh).

What about the spells and abilities of the races? There's not much of an explanation for them. For instance, I saw an undead scull for the necromancer and assumed that he resurrects all units that he kills, but I haven't seen that. Also, how much damage does pierce ignore? There needs to be a compilation of the data for this game, I haven't found any with google.

I still haven't found out how many damage different units deal against the portal... still a lot of mystery in here. That's not so bad actually, because you can learn by doing. But I'm currently trying to determine what the chances are that a card from a booster pack is legendary/rare/uncommon. Seems like 1/21, 2/21, 3/21 or 1/22, 2/22, 3/22 - pretty sure the relation is 13 though.

Got to be honest with you there Zaius, your devotion to this one game is a little disturbing.

Everyone has their crack game: mine's Warfare 1917. Apparently, Cardian is his.

And this game NEEDS a better tutorial. Especially since some of us old fogeys barely have an idea about how to play a card game like this.

So far, for me it is 'GOLDGOLDGOLDGOLD' and then run like hell for the other end.

I am devoted to a lot of games... Arkandian Crusade, Flight, GemCraft C0 - but Cardian really cries for devotion - because once you have superior cards (and many of them) your tactical approach changes radically.

Or to help the helpless (it appears there are a lot of them): in the beginning you should put as many gold mines in your deck as possible (up to 15 or so), 3 crystal mines, 3 iron mines. Build only 1 crystal/iron mine and discard the rest. Try to balance your deck as far as ressources are concerned. Don't focus on crystal nor iron, balance it - gold is always the better option. Have yourself a bunch of peasants and a view guards - scouts/archers/mages.

In the midgame you can try to get rid of a ressource completely, which will increase your flexibility as you only need one type of mine apart from gold. There are enough good cards that don't need iron/crystal and you can cover smaller needs with spells that directly give you the ressources (for example for repairs which will boost your gold per play ratio if you apply it right before you win).

Towards the end you can use either siege engines or portal growth or kamikaze, whatever you have. Rushing the game with strong creatures is also possible but somehow dependend on your luck. Anyway, without some dwarven boons you won't be able to finish within a minute.^^

Did anyone else have trouble beating the lv 3 lizard guy on their first run through? The "Beholder" eyeball thing had insane range, killed mostly everything in one or two hits, and its attacks went through all your units.

When I first played, if i saw one appear I'd let it go by (doing 10+ dmg to my portal) and then rush the other portal.

If you happen to have 2 repairs, you can easily let all his beholders through, if not - they suck. Best thing against ranged lancers (monsters with ranged attack that hits everything in range like beholders or fire wardens) are scouts. Try a deck with your fastest units. If you don't have enough of them: wait until the beholder is close to your portal, send out 1 peasant, he shoots and while he recharges throw everything at him you have. (if necessary use the glitch: send troops, PAUSE, end pause, you can send troops again without waiting)

It doesn't need cards, they just get in the way. Your deck is an army of characters that you could recruit yourself. The cards were dropped in the other type of this game, and I just don't understand why it thinks it needs them.

Actually, it's better to have 10 Siege Engines, 22 Boons, and 2 Reaper Bounties. That way, you don't end up getting stuck with 10 Siege and then find that the Reaper Bounty is still in the deck. Having 2 is fine, since you have room for another card anyhow.

I actually have composed this deck; though it takes quite some time to make, and when you're done, the game becomes quite pointless. I suppose if you want, you can call making this deck beating the game though, lol.

And @yielee: Then you couldn't call it "Cardian" (Which is a pun off of "Guardian" which is a synonym for "Protector" which is Undefined's greatest series. You can even find Protector references in Cardian, such as Itashi, etc). Honestly, it simplifies things as well, since with cards, recycling actually makes more sense, and a few other minor things
