Welcome to Delossantosjâs Song of the Week!! (mod approved) In this thread I will post a song every week that deserves a shot in the spotlight! There will song lyrics, and most likely the music video or such to the song. The song must be new(ish). 1.5-2 years back as a limit pending on how popular the song actually was. I will take ANY songs for request on my page in the comments section, but just know that if only you have requested that song, odds are it wonât be picked. If youâd like me to post a song that you think deserves it, then try and get some supporters and followers! Feel free to comment or state positive criticism to the song and tell me if you guys think itâs a good song or not! ALL GENRES ARE ACCEPTED HERE!
SONG OF THE WEEK: Ropes-Foo Fighters
with the foo fighters new single off there number selling album that HASNT EVEN COME OUT YET i feel like this song deserves a win for this first week.
with epic guitar riffs, kick butt drumming, and strong dave vocals this song has everything going for it.
lyrics: This indecision got me climbing up the walls I've been cheating gravity and waiting on the falls How did this come over me, I thought I was above it all Our hopes gone up in smoke, swallow your crown
On a kiss, I thought I'd save my breath for you On a kiss, I thought I'd save my breath for you
Give me some rope I'm coming loose, I'm hanging on you Give me some rope I'm coming loose, I'm pulling for you now Give me some rope I'm coming, out of my head, into the clear when you, go, I, go, No
These premonitions got me crying up a storm
Leave your condition, this position does no harm
On a kiss, I thought I'd save my breath for you On a kiss, I thought I'd save my breath for you
Give me some rope I'm coming loose, I'm hanging on you Give me some rope I'm coming loose, I'm pulling for you now Give me some rope I'm coming, out of my head, into the clear when you, go, I, go, No
Give me some rope I'm coming loose, I'm hanging on you Give me some rope I'm coming loose, I'm pulling for you now Give me some rope I'm coming, out of my head, into the clear when you, go, I, go, No
the true song of the week i have chosen is because of the album. you guys may be familiar with it. it won this years album of the year at the grammys and i can see why. listening to this album (AGAIN) is just beautiful and brings tears to me eyes.
this years song of the week is the suburbs-by arcade fire.
this runner up is a song thats a bit of a different genre then arcade fire. there a post hardcore band and there fairly new. with there debut album in 2010 heres with ears to see and eyes to hear-by sleeping with sirens
lyrics to the suburbs In the suburbs I I learned to drive And you told me we'd never survive Grab your mother's keys we're leavin'
You always seemed so sure That one day we'd fight in In a suburban world your part of town gets minor So you're standin' on the opposite shore But by the time the first bombs fell We were already bored We were already, already bored
Sometimes I can't believe it I'm movin' past the feeling Sometimes I can't believe it I'm movin' past the feeling again
Kids wanna be so hard But in my dreams we're still screamin' and runnin' through the yard And all of the walls that they built in the seventies finally fall And all of the houses they build in the seventies finally fall Meant nothin' at all Meant nothin' at all It meant nothin
Sometimes I can't believe it I'm movin' past the feeling Sometimes I can't believe it I'm movin' past the feeling and into the night
So can you understand? Why I want a daughter while I'm still young I wanna hold her hand And show her some beauty Before this damage is done
But if it's too much to ask, it's too much to ask Then send me a son
Under the overpass In the parking lot we're still waiting It's already passed So move your feet from hot pavement and into the grass Cause it's already passed It's already, already passed!
Sometimes I can't believe it I'm movin' past the feeling Sometimes I can't believe it I'm movin' past the feeling again
I'm movin' past the feeling I'm movin' past the feeling
In my dreams we're still screamin' We're still screamin' We're still screamin'
Now... on the songs you presented: I liked the first one best! =) I had never heard of 'The Reign Of Kindo' before, but 'Nightingale' is a simply AWESOME song!!! Thanx for the pointer there! =D
As for the two runners up, 'Havard' and 'The Suburbs', I didn't like the first one because of the weak sound portrayed and I have a disliking for the voice of the singer from 'The Suburbs'... it just doesn't sound right... =/
Kepp up the good work with this excellent idea of a thread!!! =D
I pick it because I like how soothing the music is with the voice of the singer and the instruments used. Also, the storyline is awesome! However, towards the end it was saddening.
I didn't really like the second one since I don't listen to metal music often.
I like the thread delos! I'll be keeping an eye on it.
that ok if you hate arcade fire but the fact is is that the album was more cohesive then any other album nominated. the album was MEANT to be listen to AS A WHOLE. its not just made up of 3-4 singles. thats why it deserved ALBUM of the year, it was the best written album easily.
Oh and just so you know i hate Arcade Fire with a Passion
You like Slipknot, so your opinion is invalid.
And yeah, Suburbs was a real step up for Arcade fire in terms of album cohesiveness. Funeral was near-perfect but after the Neighborhood suite ended it lost its organization. Suburbs was nigh perfectly-written.
deffinatly not the pride of 3 days grace. that song was so cheesy and generic i couldnt handle it lol. i was like. this song sounds even more emo then some of there other stuff XD. dont get my wrong im a big 3 days grace fan but that song is BAD.
I felt like watching one of these boring songs on a MTV music program
theres no way in living hell that mtv would put this music up on one of there shows. mtv LIVES for mainstream pop, crappy hip hop, and just overall what the low level of thinking society wants.
the music i posted deffinatly isnt your taste in music agent lol. but the songs are beautifully written songs which is what i try and look for while choosing a song of the week.
I really cant decide which song is best for i respect and listen to all types of music. I would suggest this song(if you take it into consideration) Meddler - August Burns Red It has epic vocals and guitars and drums. Everything is best. This song is one of my favourites for all time.
