Welcome to Delossantosjâs Song of the Week!! (mod approved) In this thread I will post a song every week that deserves a shot in the spotlight! There will song lyrics, and most likely the music video or such to the song. The song must be new(ish). 1.5-2 years back as a limit pending on how popular the song actually was. I will take ANY songs for request on my page in the comments section, but just know that if only you have requested that song, odds are it wonât be picked. If youâd like me to post a song that you think deserves it, then try and get some supporters and followers! Feel free to comment or state positive criticism to the song and tell me if you guys think itâs a good song or not! ALL GENRES ARE ACCEPTED HERE!
SONG OF THE WEEK: Ropes-Foo Fighters
with the foo fighters new single off there number selling album that HASNT EVEN COME OUT YET i feel like this song deserves a win for this first week.
with epic guitar riffs, kick butt drumming, and strong dave vocals this song has everything going for it.
lyrics: This indecision got me climbing up the walls I've been cheating gravity and waiting on the falls How did this come over me, I thought I was above it all Our hopes gone up in smoke, swallow your crown
On a kiss, I thought I'd save my breath for you On a kiss, I thought I'd save my breath for you
Give me some rope I'm coming loose, I'm hanging on you Give me some rope I'm coming loose, I'm pulling for you now Give me some rope I'm coming, out of my head, into the clear when you, go, I, go, No
These premonitions got me crying up a storm
Leave your condition, this position does no harm
On a kiss, I thought I'd save my breath for you On a kiss, I thought I'd save my breath for you
Give me some rope I'm coming loose, I'm hanging on you Give me some rope I'm coming loose, I'm pulling for you now Give me some rope I'm coming, out of my head, into the clear when you, go, I, go, No
Give me some rope I'm coming loose, I'm hanging on you Give me some rope I'm coming loose, I'm pulling for you now Give me some rope I'm coming, out of my head, into the clear when you, go, I, go, No
i actually had a good line up for this week..... but then something happened.
i came into an album. an album that you guys may have heard me say, is the best album of the year so far. in fact BOTH of the songs, song of the week AND runner up, are off of this album. which by the way, if you dont know, is called Pala.
This weeks song of the week isBlue Cassette-by Friendly Fires
The runner up, again is off of the same album. AMAZING album. i HIGHLY recommend it.
Lyrics to Blue Cassette: I found a tape in my back garden A blue cassette covered in dirt And through the dust the reels start Turning And played some memories stored in it
As I hear your voice it sets my heart on fire
That with all the noise It sets my heart on fire
And I can't stop the reels from tuning I can't stop the tape machine As I hear your voice it sets my heart on fire
I found a place I thought was stolen A place that's built on noise and needs And in my hand it spins so gently Fills a void was winding me
As I hear your voice It sets my heart on fire That with all the noise It sets my heart on fire
And I can't stop the reels from turning I can't stop the tape machine
As I hear your voice it sets my heart on fire
Lay back down I told myself How could I ever forget you?
As I hear your voice It sets my heart on fire That with all the noise It sets my heart on fire
And I can't stop the reels from turning I can't stop the tape machine
I found a tape in my back garden A blue cassette covered in dirt
I like this band. Their instrumentals are amazing and very original, especially the drums. Though while their music is great, i don't like their lyrics or singing style much.
This new song ive wanted to make song of the week for awhile. its a great song, great melody and an even greater harmony. everything about this song is just beautiful, the lyrics, the guitar, the drums groove very well, the piano sort of brings even more dramatics to the song as well.
this weeks song of the week: into the mirror-by minus the bear.
really an amazing jam right here, it is live so it sort of lets you see the musicianship really at work.
This week we have two runners up. one is from a very good band whos bass player died not to long ago, so in his memory heres caffeinated consciousness-by tv on the radio
the second runner up is actually from a local AG band we have . want to here dusty lees vocal skills? well here you have it. check out some of the songs on their facebook page right here
They got a mirror for the âcaine in the bathroom because nobody here knows when to stop but for now weâre just making out with the door unlocked back in the atrium the musicâs slowing down, the partyâs thinning out for the late crowd fixes her lipstick, fixes his belt, the coast is clear as he walks out
She whispers: âYou get what you pay for we could cost a lot you get what you pay for but we do it for the taste of a good high we do it for the sake of a hot nightâ
Her man on the couch in the blue room with everyone stoned and talking at once with no thought to where theyâd been or what they could have done she sits down beside him without a hint of shame because everythingâs the same in itâs own way Kisses her manâs cheek, her hunter eyes lock on her prey
She signals: You get what you play boy we could play a lot you get what you play boy but you do it for the taste of a good high we do it for the sake of a hot night
She senses the fear in him with an irresistible kiss and a lie she hangs on his neck like a silver chain to her whim pull him into the mirror again
She senses the need in him for her irresistible kiss and a lie that she hangs on his neck like a silver chain to her whim
Thereâs a mirror for the âcaine in the bathroom because nobody here knows when to stop and the hand towel on the rail seems it hangs out here a lot
Into the Mirror is an ok song, not really my style but they are definately talented. also what are those s things that you do the little question marks in the diamonds?
alrighty, i havent done the song of the week in two weeks, due to me just generally being out of the house and enjoying my summer.
so because i missed last week. im going to feature 4 songs today.
1 being the song of the week, another being the runner up, another being another song of the week, the last being a song i shall feature every week from now on.
i shall now be featuring a song i have never heard before from the week, of course which i personally like alot. there is no time limit on THIS song. however there is the same standard 1.5-2 year deadline for songs for the actual song of the week.
so lets get started
i shall get us started off with last weeks song of the week.
i had it planned out, but due to me being out and about, i didnt post it. You may all probably know the band already, due to the fact that they have been featured before, not only as song of the week but as a runner up in the same week. thats right friendly fires is back on here with another song off of the same fantastic album.
i wont post lyrics just cause this post will just be massive if i do. so look them up yourself.
now, onto THIS weeks song of the week, runner up, and featured song i have never heard till this past week.
This weeks actual song of the week is actually a COVER of a VERY popular punk song, possibly one of the greatest punk songs of all time. only this version is different. while the original had raging distortion guitars and fast paced drums and bass, this one is acoustic and quite relaxing and suits the lyrics a lot better in my opinion.
THIS weeks song of the week is:Linoleum-As covered by streetlight manifesto, originally by punk legends NOFX.
The runner up is also a ska song from ska/punk legends sublime. with their previous lead singer being dead and all due to heroin overdose, here is sublimes new song with new lead singer Rome.
and now onto our first "delossantosj featured song"
while i was scouring the internet one day and youtubeing and all that junk, i came across a song. this song i can most easily describe as a cross between PM today, and blink-182. if you dont know them, look them up. but anyways, it was very catchy and very soothing. the music video didnt do much for me, but the song was amazing.
as a final note guys, with this new featured song that im doing, you can suggest ANY song to me now. as long as i havent heard it, its always on the table and i consider all suggestions. but keep the new stuff coming for the regular song of the week as well.
