What are your thoughts on Taco Bell's meat? Real or fake? What % does meat have to be before it's called meat?

I think there was a topic on this somewhere already. I personally don't care. It's cheap, I like the taste and it fills me up. That's pretty much all I ask of fast food.

Agreed. We can't feed 6 billions people throwing away 95% of everything.

Hence the reason why I never eat at Taco Bell (perhaps only twice or thrice in my entire lifetime) as there is a fine line between good junk food and bad junk food and Taco Bell brings the latter to reality and also bad reputation to the junk food industry.

I cannot really comment on the concentration of meat content for it to be "acceptable" or "up to standard" but I am pretty certain that even the junk food industry has its own set of guidelines and quality control procedures that alienate the good companies from the not-so-good ones.

Also there are many other more appetizing junk food than what Taco Bell has to offer so I don't believe you are only really limited to one restaurant in your entire location or region.

Well, the definition of food is:

" any nourishing substance that is eaten, drunk, or otherwise taken into the body to sustain life, provide energy, promote growth, etc. "

And the definition of meat is:

" the flesh of animals as used for food. "

So I believe Taco Bell's items are fitting the prerequisites nicely. Besides, all that extra stuff, such as the minerals and preservatives, are there to preserve the food and protect those that eat it. Maltodextrin be a simple polysaccharide. A sweetener. The lecithin plays a number of roles in heart health, including the lowering of total and LDL cholesterol levels. The choline delivered by lecithin can help reduce high homocysteine levels in the blood - which can be associated with artery damage, stroke, Alzheimer's disease and bone fracture. And the anti-dusting agents, whatever they are, are meant to keep the powder from creating dust when they are being manufactured. All this to help the customers that eat it, and Taco Bell still has a large percentage of meat in their products, evident because the heavy amounts of protein and vitamin B12 appear in any meat-based meal.

Try looking at McDonalds for "real" meat.

The short answer is:

If you like Taco Bell, eat there. If you don't like it, don't eat there.

I personally only like Taco Bell for their chalupas.

And how many milimetres before it is considered anorexic cow? Those things are pathetically tiny. Their large size burger is a small size homemade.

All I have to say is don't believe everything you see in tabloids and commercials. Taco Bell is, I believe, telling the truth. they say that their mixture is 88% ground beef, so they're saying that there is some filler but it's not the abysmal 35% or whatever that someone said. I think that the entire food industry is crap, but we really have no choice. When I'm at work, and I have 30 minutes for lunch, I can't cook anything wholesome, and it's soo easy to drive around the corner, not even having to go to a main street, and get a couple burritos from T- Bell. I've eaten there for quite a while, and I haven't died yet, so taco bell gets my thumbs up

it would be illegal to advertise and present it as meat if it wasn't

Taco Bell's food is 36% meat, something they may have changed in recent months. Currently the FDA grades their meat at one level above that which is in dog food. Enjoy.
