Who is ready to team up with Israel? Shiites or the Americans? If you're meaning to say America, you're generalizing the US too much. Are you intoxicated on conspiracy theories?

1- the shiites closed down a hospital and ran over the police so it makes sense that theyd team up with israel.

2- the whole thing youre saying about being intoxicated with conspiracy theories is...a...conspiracy, man! people don't actually die! they just go to the bar, man! sorry, my bit of humor there.

that sums it up.

In my opinion, the UN shouldn't help the rebels.

I mean, the rebels and Gaddafi should fight it out.

I know Gaddafi orchestrated the Lockerbie bombings and he is insane, but how do we know that once the rebels overthrow Gaddafi they won't have an even worse dictator?

For example, in the movie The Interpreter, the main villain is a African dictator who was initially but is on trial by the UN for becoming as corrupt as the government he overthrew.

I know that is a movie, but it makes one think. What if this kind of thing happened somewhere in real life, like maybe Libya?

What I am trying to say is that maybe helping the rebels isn't the right thing to do right now.

Um. Wasn't that already the case with Gaddafi himself? Wasn't he himself a kind of liberator, ending monarchy with a coup d'etat, establishing an apparent republic and actual dictatorship?

Anyway what do you think we should do? The rebels have not a chance against Gaddafi without help, and how do you think can we handle the fact that he massacres his people? Sit still and accept that?

Though I'm honestly not too keen on what is happening actually, it looks more and more like an open war instead of supporting the rebels, and that abominable gnome Sarkozy is doing everything only to profile himself against all others.

I don't think we should accept that. I say help the rebels where they need it, but make sure there isn't another Gadaffi.

I really wonder why are all the NATO attacks against Gaddafi's army, if they are only permitted a no-fly zone. Or did Gaddafi's tanks learn to fly?

Well this is a necro I understand but I felt that this had to be posted. In a recent NATO air strike Gaddafi barely escaped with his life while his youngest son and several grandchildren were not so lucky. Source

@vesperbot, im surprised you havent heard there was a second resolution that allows the UN to bomb and strafe any forces threating to cause civillian casualties, so they are basically using this as an exscuse to bomb the hell out of gadaffis men and even his compound, his son and three grandchildren have been killed just today
