Even though war is bad, I love video games, strategy games involving it. So, what would be the most awesome faceoff in todays world, WorldWar III. I think it would be an Alliance of China, Russia and India, versus an Alliance of European States, and US. that would be epic
If there is an "official" world war 3, I have a strong belief that pretty much every nuclear country would drop nukes, thus destroying humanity. I say official, because the US government has to declare war or else our allies would not be dragged in
Ever heard of MAD? Strategic deterrance.
We will nuke ourselves back to the stone age, but wars won't be fought with sticks and stones.
I'm quite sure we would either nuke ourselves to one of the following: 1.Near-Complete Extinction of all Organisms on Earth. 2. Something like Fallout but much more realistic and hellish. 3.Thousands of years later (assuming Humans are crafty enough to survive), start over using the vast amounts of knowledge saved to clean the earth. 4.Space Colonization?
Hey Valkery, sorry to burst your bubble, but Einstein didn't do anything in the Manhattan Project. He signed the recommendation paper, nothing more. You want to look at guys like Enrico Fermi and Oppenheimer.
And on Germany's nuclear program: They may have had the principles, but they didn't have the resources or the time. Uranium was in high demand and low supply, and with Germany getting bombed into dust, they couldn't afford enough to even test a bomb.
What he is saying is that since WWIII will destroy almost all humans because of the powerful weapons, that WWIV will be fought with sticks and stones.

You don't get the quote. You're beating a dead horse.
Ever heard of a hyperbole?
A hyperbole is an exaggeration. Being bombed to the Stone Age is a very real threat. He wasn't trying to exaggerate anything, but just trying to say that the next world war would very nearly end us and that the world war after that, would be fought with sticks and stones. Sticks and stones isn't the exaggeration, but the message that sticks and stones is all that will be left to fight with after we bomb ourselves.
I disagree with that. I think that guns and grenades will still be around to fight with, and all the progress that humans made will not be forgotten. We will never reenter Stone Age.

I agree to a certain point, but If there is a nuclear fallout we'll be sent back into a dark age- like time, or even the wild west time, if humanity and the Earth even survives

Humanity will survive, but we won't go back to the Stone Age. We have it in our power to begin the world over again.

While I don't disagree we would survive, the real question would be for how long?
The levels of radiation would be more than adequate to mutate humanity into something nasty, and it would wipe out most of the population. What do you get? 1% mutated humanity, 99% dead humanity.
i actually think that we wouldn't use nukes since there is missile defense tech and you know if one country finds out that their nuking it more nukes will fly back and even if one country uses them the whole world would be effected so unless they blatantly disregard their own lives i think it will go to conventional warfare

Very true. In all likeliness, no human will survive because of the radiation messing with your DNA.

It messing with your DNA will just probably kill you eventually. Besides, if you are exposed enough for mutation to occur you are probably not too far time-wise from dying anyway.
With the luxury of fallout shelters (homemade, private, whatever, they do exist out there, though few and far between), humanity will survive....more or less.

the thing about living underground in fallout camps is dangerous. What if the radiation is long term? you'll have to live in the camps for years, maybe even decades. There will be a limited food supply and we will easily die off, don't think it can happen? well, just remember, the more massive the bomb (density) and size depends on it's effect, our technology will soon overtake us.

Why would it just 'disappear'? Obviously it would be long-term and the shelters would or must be prepared for this or face starvation or going out into the irradiated world.
Okay? You guys do know that all the countries that have the bomb will start spamming nukes randomly right? Maybe one-two nukes will be lunched (if not, none). Far from killing all human life.

agree theres a chance that none at all will be launched (a good one).
