My bro plays it a lot and I've tinkered with a mage until level 5. Then i got bored and went back on my Tauren.
I'm not a big MMORPG guy, i only go on my WoW like twice a week, but i'm kinda inclined not to play rift because of all the **** internet ads that keep popping up on my Tobuscus, Zero Punctuation, and adult_swim videos.
The ads are out there just to gain attention. It's actually a really rich, deep game once you get into it. I got a Rogue (Ranger/Nightblade) to lvl 21 over the past two weeks or so.
It's more challenging than WoW, I cancelled both of my WoW accounts (i used to 2-box WoW) to just play Rift.
The idea of random rifts opening up around you and having little mini boss battles while you're out questing is a really cool idea. You don't always know when/where they'll happen, and looking at a map can help you find rifts close to your level if you want neat rewards.
Tomorrow, I am buying the game. Then, I'm playing the free 10 day trial that comes with the game (there is a trial that comes with the game, right? RIGHT?!) After that, I'm going to the bank, and getting a working debit card mailed to me so I can actually play the game.
You might not be able to pay without paying the $15 for one month first. At least, that was the case for everyone who bought it over Steam, or whatever other digital distribution platforms they sold it on. You'd have to activate the game ($15), then you'd get the free 1 month added on.
Best hope that 10 day free trial is a code, hombre.
