There is a 99.9% chance you haven't heard of this game, well that's because I'm making it. I didn't really know where to post this, so I decided to put it here. I just wanted to talk about this game a bit cause its a very big project (considering I'm 15 and only have 2 friends helping).

First I'll say a little bit about myself. My name is Alec Spillman, and I'm 15 years old. I live in Katy, Texas. I've been scripting for a few years now, and I use Actionscript 2.0, and I use Alligator Flash Designer as my program. School is making it difficult to actually start on the game, but I do have pages of planning, and I'm currently working on a small-scale civilization game called City Civilization that I plan on finishing by the end of my school year (June 4th-ish). I absolutely love RPGs, Oblivion, Dragon Age, Baldur's Gate, Kingdom Hearts, I love them all, and I think some of my experiences has worn off into some of the concepts I'm going to use in this game.

Now on to the game itself. The Chapters of Eldraux is actually 3 games that spans a few hundred years, the first game is the one I'm going to focus on, for it's the one I've planned for the most. The game is called The Chapters of Eldraux Part 1: Into the Darkness. It's a fantasy RPG that takes place on the continent Eldraux, split into 4 nations: Noktron, Sheinra, Nekro, and Saul, each represents darkness, light, death, and light, respectively. Each nation has about 3-4 towns, a few landforms, and a forest. In the first game, you try to bring a corrupt king out of power who has convinced the opposing nations (dark and light, death and life) to go to war with each other, gaining simple pleasure from the fighting. His island, called Binektraul, is sealed off by a special door that can only be opened by 4 relics that represent each nation. But the king put each relic into its opposite nation (the dark relic into Sheinra, death relic into Saul, etc) in hopes that the extreme environments would destroy each relic. A special group known as the Liberators have been trying to bring the king down, though many attempts have come back unsuccessful. You play the main character, and you've are 19 years old, and you joined the Liberators at age 12, you believe you can stop the king. You go to each country, searching for the relics and have to get each one to open the door to the king's island to put a stop to him.

This game I hope to implement many new features that RPG's haven't used before, such features include:
- A level up system that lets the player decide what he/she
will choose, it will feature 41 classes split into
strength, magic, range, and speed. The character can level up
to level 50, and every 10 levels you can go up a tier, first
starting as a peasant, which is a neutral class, then you can
can choose which direction you want to go. Higher classes
allow for more complex classes, such as the mixing of strength
and magic, or speed and range, etc.
- Fully customizable weapons and armor that you choose what you
want. For the weapons, you choose handle type (regular,
fingered, or shielded),
handle material (wood, iron, diamond, etc),
blade type (dagger, longsword, axe, etc),
blade material (wood, iron, diamond, etc)
, and extras to add things like fire damage, extra damage, or
a mix of both.
For armor, you choose armor type (chainmail, scale, platemail,
etc),
armor origin (dwarven, elven, human, etc),
and armor material (wood, iron, diamond, etc)
- A great battle system that is very diverse. Battle is in a
turn-based system, and each class has 4 regular moves that cost
magic to use, and a specialization that uses all magic and
takes a long time to reload, but is very powerful. That makes
5 moves per 41 classes, making 205 different magic moves.
Strength characters focus more on being tanks and use their
moves to dish out damage and shield themselves from damage.
Magic characters focus on the arcane to deal elemental damage,
take down enemy magic resistances, make their own resistances
go up, and to heal themselves and depleting the health of their
enemies.
Speed characters use fast, quick moves to stun and cripple the
enemy, speed themselves up, allowing themselves to attack more
per turn, making their chances of dodging higher, or making
their chances of getting critical hits higher.
Range characters use poison and strength to
deteriorate the enemy, and use a balanced system of strength
and defense. A good starting class for beginners.
There is going to be much more in the game, but I haven't gotten around to planning the whole game yet. I may update this frequently on how the game is coming, but only if you guys want it. I strive to make this game really in depth, I want it to have many side quests and much replay value. If the game gets popular enough, I've already made a little bit of plans for 2 sequels, The Chapters of Eldraux Part 2: Revenge of the Scattered (yes I know about the Transformers movie with a similar name, but that's just a coincidence), and The Chapters of Eldraux Part 3: The Final Stand. If you guys want to know more about those game, or if you want to know about my civilization game, just say so and I'll make another post about the other games. If you read all of this I thank you for taking your time to read this, and I hope you're just as excited as I am about this game. As for a release date, I hope to get it started at the beginning of my summer break and finish by the end (about August 20th). Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Alright, so a bunch of my friends at school want to be testers for the game, so if anybody here wants to be a beta tester, I can make a separate post with my e-mail account and once the game gets going in production, I can choose some people to test my game. Also, I may select a few to be alpha testers, getting early versions of the game as its being made. This is probably only going to happen if a good amount of people want to test for the game.

My friend just told me of this typo "it's a fantasy RPG that takes place on the continent Eldraux, split into 4 nations: Noktron, Sheinra, Nekro, and Saul, each represents darkness, light, death, and light, respectively." replace the second "light" with "life"

Sounds like an interesting game.
I'm assuming from the battle system you'll be a loner, right?
While I like being alone, it would be more strategic if you made a party instead.

Yea I was thinking on using a party battle system, but I'm not sure whether to actually use it, cause it'll be a hell of a lot of work to put behind even the simplest AI, but I may consider it, because I already have a class called "Necromancer" that allows you to summon a skeleton to fight with you, so if I have that in the game, I guess I should put parties in it. But I'm not sure now, once I start making the game, I'll see what I can do.

xP Well once I start the game, I'll probably make a separate post on just people giving me their email so I can send the game. I actually made the game email: ChaptersofEldraux@yahoo.com in case you want me too add you from there. During the making of the game I can send updates, talk about the game itself, or if you want you can just chat me up, I would like to get to know the people who want to play the game.

Another few updates, first, the release date might take longer than anticipated, because it's going to take about a month for the art to get done, then about 2 more to put everything together. Second, I've categorized all the 205 moves into 23 slots, meaning there are 23 different effect that can happen during battle. I'm going to describe all 23 effects so you can get an idea of what battle is going to be like.
Poison- This is a move that does 5% HP damage to the target every turn for a certain amount of time.
Stun- This is a move that makes the target unable to do any moves for a certain amount of time.
Cripple- This is a move that lowers the target's maximum HP or MP.
Resistance Drain- This is a move that lowers the target's magical resistance for a certain amount of time, making them more susceptible to magical damage.
Buff- This is a move that increases certain stats, or increases chances to dodge and score critical hits.
Instant Kill- This is a move that causes an instant kill. All bosses are immune to instant kill.
Extra Damage- This is a move that deals normal damage plus a percentage extra of that damage.
Heal HP- This is a move that increases the amount of HP the target has.
Heal MP- This is a move that increases the amount of MP the target has.
Haste- This is a move that allows the player to make more than one move at a time.
Slow- This slows the target, making them attack less for a certain amount of time.
Steal- This is a move that steals an item or gold or both from the target.
Element Damage- This is a move that deals either mild, moderate, major, or ultra element damage in any element.
Multiple Hits- This is one move that attacks multiple times.
Bleed- This is just like poison, only bleeding can affect different moves.
Counter- This is a move that counters an opponent's attack, still hurting the player, but hurting the target as well.
Debuff- This is a move that lowers a stat for a certain amount of time.
Transform- This is a move that transforms the player into a creature. Only the Transmogrifier can use moves in this category.
Element Buff- This is a move that increases the amount of resistance of any element the target has for a certain amount of time.
Battle Win- This is a move that increases a stat (normally HP or stamina) if the player wins the battle.
Summon- This is a move that summons a creature to help the player. Only the Necromancer can use moves in this category.
Summon Buff- This is a move that increases the stats of a summoned creature. Only the Necromancer can use moves in this category.
Critical Hit- This is a move that does normal damage, plus double damage of what it did. The difference between Critical Hit and Extra Damage is there is a stat that increases the chance of getting a critical hit (luck), whereas only magic moves can let you do moves categorized in Extra Damage.
