A 92 year-old lady shot her neighbor's house. She shot 4 bullets into his house because he wouldn't kiss her. She appparently had a crush on him and threatened him multiple times when he refused. One of those was, of course, a threat to shoot his car.
Actually it's as easy as good credit, clean history and a signature. I know someone who has so many guns they keep most at their parents' house. And he's a heavy alcoholic.

Cases like this are very rare and shouldn't be used as a reason to restrict firearms.

Heavy alcoholic + lots of guns = BAD
Depends. My mom could shoot straighter drunk than not, same with my grandpa. Granted, they are excellent shots, but still. Rational usually, too. Person to person variances. Bad drunks tend to have records anyways.

Shooting strait is not the main problem. The main problem would be that because some heavy alcoholics (my dad) get very angry when they are drunk and this could cause them to maybe want to shoot someone, and because America made getting guns so easy this could potentially be a very serious problem.

Like I say, most bad drunks have records anyways. Many of them are just as capable with their hands and chairs as they are with guns.
Guns are made for killing. that right there tells you something isn't right.
Knives are not made for killing, although they can be used very well for it. But it is not their primary, and by far not their only use. Shooting weapons' only use is to kill, be it game or humans. You can't compare the two.
And if you're going to reply that you need a gun to defend yourself from criminals, keep in mind that here in Europe they banned guns a lot of time ago, and now nobody needs a gun (or wishes to have one) just because the criminals have no guns.

Well.. you're right of course, the criminals here are not the armed mafia gangsta's that many seem to think of, and we don't really need guns. Only part where you're not right: we also have people that want their guns at home, people that want them for selfdefense. In my country we recently voted about an initiative to keep the army weapons in arsenals instead of at home individually. It didn't get through, people wanted to keep their army weapns at home. Of course it is only about one weapon, this doesn't compare to the family arsenals of americans, but still..
Well of course firearms aren't totally banned but you have to ask for a license and you must have a valid reason. But however here there isn't the frontier-like American gun culture. Even if a person lives in a disreputable district, he probably won't get a gun unless it's an extreme case. We are not as used as americans to see firearms every day. Also the laws about self defense here aren't like the USA's where you have the right to shoot everyone who enter your lawn :/ However, the result of this is much less violence than in the US.
That's only because of the serious stuff that went down since WWII til they were banned. And I don't mean war. It was awful over there as far as guns go. In America, heck, I read multiple stories of people being shot everyday. No lie. I could show some the paper every freaking day. It's just too accepted.
