for me best Action (AND Christmas film) is Die Hard
Best Gangster-The Godfather Part 2
Best Fantasy-Return of the King
Best Horror-The Shining
Best Sports film-Between Raging Bull and Caddyshack
Best Comedy-The Naked Gun or Airplane!
Best Sci-Fi-Either Inception or Blade Runner

Ah yeah Shutter Island, The Prestige, Perfume and Goodfellas are other excellent choices, but for Vampire film- I disagree with Twilight Saga, if you want a great Vampire flick, Blade + Blade 2

Action: Braveheart or Spartacus (the original)

And stevedavis, how could you have Meet the Fockers, Meet the Parents and the Twilight Saga on any "greatest" list?

Live Free or Die Hard is my favorite. It's filled with action packed scenes and thrilling events along with suspension making you wanting to know what is coming next.

But star wars also doesnt have any action but a boring talk.

lol at Nurvana, the best movie i have ever seen is lock stock'n'two smoking barrels, its an epic dark comedy mixed with gangster film, it has a really clever plot that has has a very very clever ending, its also very very funny
