I think that NOT having lots of cheese is bad for ya....I mean, who wants to live if you can't smoother everything in wonderful creamy cheese? No cheese = Leading cause of suicides (though those dang researchers have yet to figure that connection out yet).

Cheese doesn't cause suicides. I bet you just really love cheese.

I think if you were to have to much salt at once you would die. But after eating too much cheese you would throw up.

Seeing as most cheese has a good bit of salt in it (among other things like fat) you'd be better off eating plain salt. Cheese is extremely unhealthy for you.

That's the dumbest thing I've heard in a good while. Salt is way more harmful than cheese, and there's never as much salt in cheese as there would be in an equal amount of...salt!...I think a fight between butter and salt would be more approriate. Cheese can, of course, clogg up your system and make you fat if you don't exercise, but salt isn't something that can be thrown out of the organism as easily, and once you have too much, you can end up with plenty of grave problems, including strokes and cardiovascular diseases. Plus, wikipedia states, and it is true, that ''Death can occur by ingestion of large amounts of salt in a short time (about 1 g per kg of body weight).''

How's that dumb. Go read the nutrition label on cheese. Most cheese has more salt in it than you think. To eat X amount of salt compared to eating that same amount of salt in cheese, the cheese would do more damage.

But you're probably some 15 year old that knows everything, so sorry for pointing out your ignorance.

I'd think that would depend on whether or not the cheese has large amounts of other "nutrients" (such as fat or cholesterol).

If the cheese doesn't have lots of other stuff, then the salt on its own would probably be worse for you.

They have no proof salt is bad for you... If it was I would be dead.

Salt is harmless? Ask my dead mother.

Too much of something is bad for you, even water can be over consumed. Unless you're lactose intolerant, cheese isn't quite bad. Though if you compare the two, over consuming salt is definitely worse than over consuming cheese. What kind of idiot eats salt by itself?

Pound for pound, salt is more dangerous. Consuming 4 pounds of salt at once will kill you.

I really doubt you could consume 4 lbs of salt at once without purging.

salt damages your heart by causing hypertrophy... the hypertrophy then worsens and can overtime start a horrible death spiral involving the kidneys... I'm gonna go w/ salt... u might could request Strop's attention for a bit... he is a doctor you know.

Salt destroys moisture, so don't drink salt water when you're thirsty.

drinking salt water increases the osmolarity of your blood... and thereby starts to suck water out of your cells... and your brain cells are no exception. it doesn't destroy moisture... for as far as you guys are concerned... it acts like a sponge and water moves from where it was staying to wherever the salt goes.... its osmosis and equilibration. ...except the salt doesn't move to different compartments (from blood plasma to cells) quickly or at all so it is the water that gets drawn out of the cells that causes equilibration... and thus dehydration of the brain.

it depends on the amounts of both, but in equal amounts i'd say salt probably
