There are some people who sell alpha gift codes that were purchased before the price increase. It's obviously more expensive than having it purchased by yourself during alpha phase, but it's still considerably cheaper than buying it from Mojang.

If you pirate the game you won't have an account and therefor won't be able to download updates or play online.

I bought the game back when it was only 10 pounds (since it is British made). I will say, it is worth the purchase, but you can create an account and join online multiplayer servers through the website, which can be very interesting and fun sometimes

Why would it have a price if you could easily get it for free? <_<

If I were you I'd look around the Internet for contests that have account giveaways (Minecraft related sites are obvious more likely to have those ;P)

Also check the various youtube Let's Plays to see if you even like the game. There's nothing more annoying than buying something and then not liking it.

If all else fails, just buy it. 15⬠is really not that much money (and it's 1/4 of what a full price games costs).

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Minecraft is (and always has been) made in Sweden.

He's got the right concept anyways. If you had bought it before it went Beta, you get free updates. I'm glad I did

As did I. But I'm still not sure how the beta thing works since I haven't heard of any beta accounts that couldn't get the new content updates. Maybe it refers to updates AFTER the main release? (which is on 11/11/11 if you guys didn't know already).

You should instead buy the game, like the rest of us, and help Notch out and help further his goals in Minecraft. I've heard of people wanting to pirate $60 games, but $20? I'm usually the kind of guy who doesn't buy simple games with simple everything, like those flash game guys that insist that their flash games be BOUGHT, but Minecraft is different. Not only isn't it a flash game, but it has been professionally made and is underground [pun-ish], meaning it isn't mainstream popularity. Help the guy out.

I don't think you should pirate it. Because:

1. Pirating as not good.
2. It helps the company out.
3. It's worth every penny, or whatever your currency is.
