Well... as most of you may know... Sonata Arctica is my favorite band.... but I'll throw out a few more that you guys might like enough to dub the best...
SA Stratovarius Nightwish Van Canto (a capella metal ) Kamelot Epica
I would have to agree with Strop and go with Radiohead. All of their albums after Pablo Honey have been utterly exceptional - and I don't think I need to elaborate on the scope of their acclaim or their influence.
two words: Iron Maiden they have one of the greatest song writers of all time (Steve Harris), one of the greatest singers of all time (Bruce Dickinson), three of the greatest guitarists of all time (Dave Murry, Adrian Smith, and Janick Gers) and one of the greatest drummers of all time (Nicko McBrain; not to mention Clive Burr who imo was better that Nicko). they are personal favorite band. they have unbelievable guitar solos. countless hit singles, and only three bad songs in 15 albums. not to mention they are England's best live band who are still together.
