dude winning a grammy in the 21'st century is essentially a joke. they are more for quantity then quality, and by that i mean they focus more on commercial success and money that was brought in by the song then the actual "goodness" of the album

what he means, is that the band tries hard to be this "hardcore" metal band and stuff and they arent. theyre kinda what i like to call "oser metal"

stone sour is one of those bands that are kinda sketchy. i dont like it when corey tries to bring the slipknot "sound" in, however alot of the stuff they have is not that bad at all. i deffinatly have FAR more respect for them then i do slipknot

[/quote] are you kidding me? as if. they are deffinatly one of the more poiontlessly over produced bands. bands like arcade fire, that some argue are over produced, actually have the instruments they do in there for a purpose. slipknots purpose of 3 drummers is stupid. the only REAL "wow" factor that slipknot really has is joey's drumming. corey could be SOOOO much more if he just dropped them already. cause hes limiting his true vocal ability that i HAVE heard him display on albums like "come what(ever) may"
I like very few metal, Led Zeppelin, and I have a hard time believing they are metal.
Metal is AC/DC, Black Sabbath, KISS, and a couple more.
Slipknot tries too hard to make a name for itself, and it fails at it.
When 12 year old boys who have no friends try to be different, they listen to Slipknot. Since they are too stupid to understand that they are basically listening to what 20 million other 12 year old boys who have no friends are listening, making them as mainstream as Lady Gaga.
Them winning a Grammy just enforces the point that they are too mainstream. Their awful riffs, deathly lyrics, and headbanging fanatics all contribute to them being mainstream.
In five years, they will start to lose fame. They've just become another product of the music industry. Just like Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna will all lose fame, Slipknot will too.
The difference is, those pop artists have songs that are all bearable.

Good point, but a lot of people dont know that the singer for Slipknot also sings for Stone Sour and when it comes to opinions about Slipknot people say they hate the singer.

i never "hated" corey taylor. he is one AMAZING singer, i just hate his screaming. its horrible
The masks have gotten pretty old. Especially for the guy that thinks he is this psycho clown guy. He changes them all the time. I also think they don't need half of the people. I don't get why they need the two extra drummers and the guy with the nails. The one drummer Joey is pretty talented and so is Corey but like other people said you can see how good he is in stone sour more than slipknot. The on guitarist that is in Stone Sour with Corey is pretty good too.
I like how people are all talking about, oh I like this dude and this dude in the band. Or I don't like these people. Does anyone here actually care about their music?
