This is the hardest riddle I've heard of. It's even harder, since the person being asked is supposed to ask questions pertaining to the problem, in order to solve it. But here it goes anyway..
A guy walks into a restaurant, and orders a sandwich. He takes a bite, and starts to cry. He then jumps off the dock and kills himself. Why did he do this?
That guy is a naturalist that loves seagulls, so he felt guilty eating a seagull and went to sacrifice himself to feed the animals for the circle of life?
Kind of. They didn't die in the ocean - they died while on the ocean (in a boat). However, the man didn't realize that person died when he actually did die. He realized it later on.
^Sorry, that wasn't clear. Here's a better phrasing:
Was the person who died on a boat, and whose death was hidden from the man in the riddle who ate the sandwich, of romantic importance to the man in the riddle who ate the sandwich?
Was it because his friend and he were stranded on a boat with nothing to eat so the friend caught seagulls? And then the guy died from eating tainted seagull meat? But the other guy didn't realize until he ate a seagull sandwich? And he jumped off also because he never wanted to eat seagull again?
snowguy13 - kind of. The person who died on the boat was related to him, but not as a wife, girlfriend, etc.
thaboss - He was stranded on a boat, but not with his friend. He jumped off the dock because he finally realized something he didn't before, until he ate the sandwich.
I KNOW IT! He had a pet seagull! The seagull flew away wherever it was! The guy realized that his seagull hadn't made it when he ate seagull meat made from his pet (he somehow knew it was his pet's meat)! Then he died! Yay!
