The first video game I played was a cross between Super Mario Bros. for the NES and Chrono Trigger for the SNES. I played the former quite frequently and even got my dad to play along with me. I was only 3, so I couldn't really understand the complexity of RPGs; my older brother forbade me from playing the game until I would get older.
Sorry about the earlier post. My first game was pong, I know im a youngster and should have had a newer game, but I saw someone playing pong and instantly loved it and bought it.
Actually the first game was space invaders. I'm suprised no one knew this!
*Sigh* It's actually this:
Wikipedia:
"1947: Cathode Ray Tube Amusement Device
The earliest known interactive electronic game was by Thomas T. Goldsmith Jr. and Estle Ray Mann on a cathode ray tube. The patent was filed on January 25, 1947 and issued on December 14, 1948. The game was a missile simulator inspired by radar displays from World War II. It used analog circuitry, not digital, to control the CRT beam and position a dot on the screen. Screen overlays were used for targets since graphics could not be drawn at the time. The earliest known interactive electronic game was by Thomas T. I still have one, and it works. The only thing is; just why would I want to make it work: it takes FOUR batteries!! I kind of miss the contrast adjust function though.
The first game I played is Sonic the Hedgehog 2, for the Sega Genesis
The first game I owned is this, get a load of this!
