Why do we censor so much stuff!?

Not just in AG, but the whole world. If we don't show children these harsh realities, they enter the world naive, leaving them susceptible to sin, and trouble. But, if we do it too much then children become desensitized, meaning they don't react to problems like they're problems. So much goes into play though, like look at this in a scenario of no censorship,if a children hears that their parent has died overseas, and because they can interpret what this means in a world of no censorship, they may break down and lose the rest of their childhood, but they'll be a stronger individual. So, it comes down to this: Love for our children or make them stronger emotionally?

If you don't do everything in your power to make your child a better person then I don't see how you could say you love them.

Therefore, it's not a "one or the other", it's an "all or nothing", and the "all" is a win-win with a temporary loss.

I say a world of die hard, logical, intelligent thinkers would be much better than a world full of weak, insufferable morons. Don't you?

Think of it like Texas versus CERN. Which would you prefer? Highly intelligent, motivated individuals, or people who think that being one way is the only acceptable way to be?

TBH, kids need to be allowed to be kids. They don't need to "be shown the harsh realities", they'll figure it out eventually on their own. Nor should they be completely isolated from these harsh realities. Basically, just let kids be kids and stop worrying so much about what you should or should teach them. Kids are very curious, if there's something they wonder, they'll figure it out or ask you.

Love for our children or make them stronger emotionally?

Just raise them and stop caring so much and you'll most likely have both. A kid learns a lot from how their parents act, so if you're a decent person, they'll most likely grow up to be one too. People worry too much. Bad stuff has happened to people since the dawn of mankind, and yet plenty of decent people have been raised since then.

Following with iMogwai I'll adjust my argument and elaborate a bit.

I'm not talking about being a Grammar Nazi parent, but when they are curious you go into detail and make them understand. If they done something wrong you go on about, explain why its bad and why you're angry otherwise it'll be the same thing over and over again.

Even so bad influences like other people they could be hanging out with is quite terrible, I've seen it first hand with my nephew and cousin.

Censorship only exists because of fears that we create or just human stupidity. without any of these, there wouldn't be any censorship.

To be fair, censorship can also be used in a humorous fashion.

Or was that just me?

Well I can't *censored* give you an example because of the *censored* censo--*censored*--ing system!

Well hey, I'm not good at humor, but South Park has used it on its 201st episode, or its 200th.

Or both. I don't know

Lol. That made me laugh

I guess in the point of view, censorship can be useful, but humor basically made any horrible and terrible thing useful, so...

I don't think so. Censorship either exists or it doesn't.
