For all of you who are old enough to drive I thought this article was pretty interesting. What do you think?

I get pissed off when I think about how much gas and oil conglomerates are screwing us out of money. Personally, I think that we should go in and take out everyone in office, globally who has made a decision that most people disagree with. Or multi-million dollar profit companies who raise the price of their products for no reason other than they are greedy.

What pisses me off is how they can get away with it so cleanly without anyone stopping them.

If they continue to bet on the oil prices going up, according to the article, they will continue to go up. This is the part that I'm most worried about. If those scamming lowlifes get the prices up to $5 a gallon, people will probably end up walking to work on the freeway.

I would love to see this happen but I doubt it would.

i think its bs i herd that there is plenty of gas not like there is a short supply so there shouldnt be a reason to be so greedy and what sucks is i go to school in the next city over imagine driving rhere and back some people question why i dont go school here and thats cause i got to finish this alternative school for this year so eventually i will end up taking some kind of city bus or walk there (which will take like 2 hours sense im a slow walker)

Last I knew (about 2008 or 2009) the cost of a barrel of oil was twice what the economy said it should be, based on supply and demand.

As for the gas prices, they piss me off but I don't have to pay for gas myself yet. For the future I'm just hoping Tesla motors or maybe another company releases an electric car that is decent and doesn't cost a fortune.

As if they aren't bad enough, Obama is pushing to get rid of Gas and Oil tax breaks. So all the money Oil Companies have to pay to the Government is gonna get pushed onto us, the consumers.

The gas prices in Wisconsin/Minnesota are around $4, which seems to me to be a lot, but compared to California...

Obama is pushing to get rid of Gas and Oil tax breaks.

I highly doubt that. Link? Proof?

If so, I would have to move to Canada, because then every single party would be corrupt.

As long as we rely on oil we are going to have to deal with this. It takes a long time for fossil fuels to be made. We really should start doing more with renewable sources of energy.

âpeople who made a decision to get a Prius instead of a Hummer get a payback, and from a societal standpoint, that's probably good.â

This is the kind of man who likes the smell of his own farts.

Maybe the share holders are increasing the prices of gas, but this article fails to address the cost of buying and transporting gas, which I feel has an even bigger impact on gas prices.

Barack does not want us to drill off shore or to use the oil we have reserved. What he wants to do is buy more oil from Brazil. I don't know if American oil would be any cheaper, but there's no way we could find out if we don't unblock American oil.

Us Canadians pay by the litre. Right now, I'm paying $1.36 per litre. Four litres to a gallon, that's 5.44 a gallon. And that isn't the worst price in Canada.

Also, if you don't think Canada has corrupt politics, you haven't done your research. Take a look into the Liberal Sponsorship Scandal.

I find it funny how if someone sneezes in the Middle East, then oil prices go up.

This just sounds like a business to me. Obviously they aren't going to sell the oil for how much it costs them to buy. Look at how much soda companies make per 20 ounce bottle compared to how much it costs to make it. If people are going to pay for it, then the prices can be raised. I don't know much about laws regarding gas companies. Are they not allowed to try to make as much profit as possible?

Well I can't drive for a few more years so I'm probably gonna get an electric car so this'll probably not affect me. I think they might go down after thsi middle east thing clears up.

As the price of oil goes up it also increases the price of electricity.

Problems have been going on in the Middle East for thousands of years and I highly doubt that things will get better over there in a few years. Right now one can hope that they will get better.

I heard in Texas alone we have about 100-200 years of oil reserved. I am a bit of a nut case and I have my anxiety attacks but I always believed that the U.S. plans on depleting the rest of the worlds oil and saving our own so then we would be the only ones with oil and be the chief export. Just one of my little conspiracies though.
