God sends two bears to rip up 42 little children for making fun of Elisha's bald head. 2nd Kings 2:23 From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some boys came out of the town and jeered at him. âGet out of here, baldy!â they said. âGet out of here, baldy!â 2:24 He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the LORD. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the boys. 2:25 And he went on to Mount Carmel and from there returned to Samaria.
You must hate your father, mother, wife, children, brothers, sisters, yourself, and carry a cross on your back to become a disciple. Luke 14:25 Large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and turning to them he said: 14:26 âIf anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sistersâ"yes, even their own lifeâ"such a person cannot be my disciple. 14:27 And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple. 14:28 âSuppose one of you wants to build a tower. Wonât you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? 14:29 For if you lay the foundation and are not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule you, 14:30 saying, âThis person began to build and wasnât able to finish.â
Sell your clothes for a sword. Luke 22:35 Then Jesus asked them, âWhen I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?â
âNothing,â they answered.
22:36 He said to them, âBut now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you donât have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. 22:37 It is written: âAnd he was numbered with the transgressorsâ[a]; and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me. Yes, what is written about me is reaching its fulfillment.â 22:38 The disciples said, âSee, Lord, here are two swords.â
âThatâs enough!â he replied.
Beat your children Proverbs 23:13 Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you punish them with the rod, they will not die. 23:14 Punish them with the rod and save them from death.
Moses's Vengence Numbers 31:1 The LORD said to Moses, 31:2 âTake vengeance on the Midianites for the Israelites. After that, you will be gathered to your people.â 31:15 âHave you allowed all the women to live?â he asked them. 31:16 âThey were the ones who followed Balaamâs advice and enticed the Israelites to be unfaithful to the LORD in the Peor incident, so that a plague struck the LORDâs people. 31:17 Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, 18 but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man.
God & Slavery Leviticus 25:40 They are to be treated as hired workers or temporary residents among you; they are to work for you until the Year of Jubilee. 25:41 Then they and their children are to be released, and they will go back to their own clans and to the property of their ancestors. 25:42 Because the Israelites are my servants, whom I brought out of Egypt, they must not be sold as slaves. 25:43 Do not rule over them ruthlessly, but fear your God.
25:44 ââYour male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. 25:45 You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. 25:46 You can bequeath them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly.
Old Testament Counts Matthew 5:17 âDo not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 5:18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 5:19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Ah, yes. More Biblical verses blown way out of context.

1. They weren't little children. Remember that in Biblical times life spans were extremely long. The Hebrew word used there means "young man". Now, a "young man" in Biblical times could be in his 30s. 2. Back then, everyone knew who the prophet of God was. They most likely gathered there waiting for Elisha to insult him. If someone is brazen enough to insult God's prophet, they have most likely insulted many people before, or were very sinful.
Based on this, justifiable.

By hate, Jesus most likely means righteous hatred. This is in the assumption that one's family is evil. In fact, we should righteously hate evil, for it goes against God.
Justifiable.
Sell your clothes for a sword. Luke 22:35 Then Jesus asked them, When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything? Nothing, they answered. 22:36 He said to them, But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you dont have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. 22:37 It is written: And he was numbered with the transgressors[a]; and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me. Christ almost always spoke figuratively. Therefore, he meant that we should prepare to defend ourselves. We know that was necessary based on religious persecution. Jesus was simply warning them about future persecution.
Justifiable.
Beat your children Proverbs 23:13 Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you punish them with the rod, they will not die. 23:14 Punish them with the rod and save them from death.
You've gotta be kidding me. This is a very metaphorical verse. We should discipline children instead of letting them run rampant. By doing so, we are bettering their life.
Justifiable.

Remember, the evil were being punished. No harm fell upon those who didn't commit fornication.
Justifiable.

To be honest, I don't have much to say here. Notice: "They are to be treated as hired worked or temporary residents among you; Do not rule over them ruthlessly, but fear your God; You can bequeath them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly." God gave restrictions as to how slaves were to be treated. On another note, can you easily justify $7.25 minimum wage?
Justifiable.

To be honest, I don't see anything negative here. What exactly are you trying to say?
Ah, yes. More Biblical verses blown way out of context.
To many people have already said this.
I made the exact same two arguments on page 11. Except the life span in biblical times only appeared to be longer towards the beginning where it seemed people lived 100's of years. After, they would be shorter because they don't have modern medicine. Until a few hundred years ago 40 was considered an old age.

Ok. So he killed a bunch of "young men" who made fun of some people. How does that make it better? Last I checked, making fun of someone isn't a crime, it is actually quite a common thing for "young men" to do. And wait, WTF? The "life span" of people around this time was like 50 years, this was in bronze age middle east.
And basically all the other ones are saying "NANANANAN The verses I don't like are all metaphorical and not meant to be taken literally lalalalla!" which is not an argument, unless you are saying it is all meant to be figurative, in which case Yahweh and Jesus would also just be metaphors. So where do you draw the metaphorical line?
Yes, because ancient goat herders had sooo much longer lifespans then people today, never mind the technology and nuitrition, much less the biology of the human body when it ages.
Of course. They lived for several hundred years.
Back then, there were more gods, prophets and the ilk then kids molested by the catholic church.
Don't even get me started. Those "riests" are not actual Christians. Also, Catholicism didn't exist in the Old Testament.
Prove he meant that.
Oh come on. Jesus spoke metaphorically. That's the metaphorical translation.
The innocent children died, and it was genocide, aka "EVIL", just like how the nazis killed the "evil" jews.
Please don't reverse this crap. Those children were being raised in, most likely, a similar case as Sodom. They were bound to become evil.
Did you just say that slavery isn't too bad and is almost like minimum wage? WTF you smoking?
In fact I did. OT slavery was, in fact, a good institution. They were brought into slavery to pay off debts and the like. Also, like I previously stated, they were treated like hired servants. It's not like North Americans enslaving Africans. It is an entirely different case. And yes, it is very difficult to live off of minimum wage.
Well for starters, the lack of being kosher, the lack of sacrificing animals to god, etc are the laws of the prophet yet are not followed.
1. Kosher is even too far. Meat consumption was ok only if it was absolutely necessary. Any meat eaten today, kosher or not, is a sin. 2. Animal sacrifice was an OT institution, and was replaced with the sanctuary in heaven. 3. People who don't follow the laws aren't Christians.

After, they would be shorter because they don't have modern medicine. Until a few hundred years ago 40 was considered an old age.
Exactly. Methuselah lived to be over 900. Then we had a decline, which was instituted by God. Then poor sanitation reduced it, but modern sanitation brought it back up somewhat.
Ok. So he killed a bunch of "young men" who made fun of some people. How does that make it better?
Everyone seemed to be making such a fuss about "little children being brutally mauled" that I believed it needed to be brought up.
Last I checked, making fun of someone isn't a crime, it is actually quite a common thing for "young men" to do.
1. Once again, they insulted God's prophet. That was a huge matter. 2. Most "young men" are morons.
And wait, WTF? The "life span" of people around this time was like 50 years, this was in bronze age middle east.
I see no proof for this whatsoever. 900's, then perhaps 40, then approx. 85 today.
And basically all the other ones are saying "NANANANAN The verses I don't like are all metaphorical and not meant to be taken literally lalalalla!" which is not an argument...
It is if you know what is metaphorical. Jesus spoke metaphorically. Therefore, that was metaphorical.
unless you are saying it is all meant to be figurative, in which case Yahweh and Jesus would also just be metaphors.
That is stupid. God created the Bible. A metaphor cannot create.
Don't even get me started. Those "riests" are not actual Christians. Also, Catholicism didn't exist in the Old Testament.
What qualifies someone to be a Christian? Don't you just need to accept Jesus as your saviour?
Please don't reverse this crap. Those children were being raised in, most likely, a similar case as Sodom. They were bound to become evil.
So they weren't evil yet...

When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property. (Exodus 21:20-21 NAB)
1. Once again, they insulted God's prophet. That was a huge matter. 2. Most "young men" are morons.
Are Muslims allowed to kill me if I mock Mohammed? Are you allowed to kill me if I mock Jesus?
It is if you know what is metaphorical. Jesus spoke metaphorically. Therefore, that was metaphorical.
How do you know that? Who are you to decide that he was speaking metaphorically? How do you know which parts of the bible are metaphers and which aren't?
...HAHAHAHHAHHAH. Ok. I get it now. You are honestly mentally ill, or completely and utterly ignorant of all history, science, and any knowledge whatsoever. Do you seriously believe this? We have records of this time, from people with writing such as the Egyptians, Aztecs, Chinese, Greek, etc as well as dead bodies that state the life span was not, in fact, high at all.
Don't even get me started. Those "riests" are not actual Christians. Also, Catholicism didn't exist in the Old Testament.
"LALLALALLALALA NO TRUE SCOTSMAN LALALLALALA". Is that what you are saying?
Please don't reverse this crap. Those children were being raised in, most likely, a similar case as Sodom. They were bound to become evil.
...."Bound to become evil"? Then why where they born into that situation at all, with the fact that your god had complete control over that?
1. Kosher is even too far. Meat consumption was ok only if it was absolutely necessary. Any meat eaten today, kosher or not, is a sin.
What leads you to believe that?
3. People who don't follow the laws aren't Christians.
****. I better start selling you stones, because the laws say that you must stone pretty much everyone.
Everyone seemed to be making such a fuss about "little children being brutally mauled" that I believed it needed to be brought up.
Fine. Big children being mauled brutally by bears. Much better.
1. Once again, they insulted God's prophet. That was a huge matter. 2. Most "young men" are morons.
Really? So the all powerful guy who really needs a hug is so petty that anyone who calls one of his prophets bald deserves to be killed? So if I go up to the pope and yell "YOU ARE AN OLD MAN!", I would have to be mauled brutally?
And for the second, nice way to stereotype. You said they where around forty, and if you are correct, they wouldn't even fit into your ideal of young men.
I see no proof for this whatsoever. 900's, then perhaps 40, then approx. 85 today.
How about dead bones of men? Writings? Science? Logic?
It is if you know what is metaphorical. Jesus spoke metaphorically. Therefore, that was metaphorical.
So, Jesus isn't really god's son, that was just a metaphor? Jesus really isn't a prophet, that was just a metaphor?
That is stupid. God created the Bible. A metaphor cannot create.
And that is written in the Bible, which would mean it was a metaphor. Since it would be a metaphor, it could mean something like "Your inner voice of write and wrong" or "Those visions you see after smoking unidentified plants". Of course since there is no god, and the only place that says your god exists is in the bible, which you think is metaphorical, then he would be a metaphor.
Jesus loves me! This I know, For the Bible tells me so. Little ones to Him belong; They are weak, but He is strong. Chorus: Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so. Jesus loves me! This I know, As He loved so long ago, Taking children on His knee, Saying, âLet them come to Me.â Chorus Jesus loves me when I'm good, When I do the things I should, Jesus loves me when I'm bad, Though it makes Him very sad. Chorus Jesus loves me still today, Walking with me on my way, Wanting as a friend to give Light and love to all who live. Chorus Jesus loves me! He who died Heavenâs gate to open wide; He will wash away my sin, Let His little child come in. Chorus Jesus loves me! Loves me still Tho' I'm very weak and ill; That I might from sin be free Bled and died upon the tree. Chorus Jesus loves me! He will stay Close beside me all the way; Thou hast bled and died for me, I will henceforth live for Thee. Chorus
This is much better for children. It is much less violent.
In the history of the human race Of all the inspirations for the separation of man from his true tribal culture Of all the inspirations for the acts of violence from one man onto another From one nation onto another, from one oppressor onto the oppressed There is no more guilty party and inspiration than those books known As the Holy Bible, the Koran, and the Bagavad Gita to spread separation of mankind
The Bible is bull****, the Koran is a lie The Bagavad Gita did not fall from the sky These are the books that were written by men They've caused wars, now follow if you can
They took away our love and gave us fear Tried to make us hate the one who put us here Then they took our sacred songs and made them wrong Then they took away our prayers and gave us theirs
The Bible is bull****, the Koran is a lie The Bagavad Gita did not fall from the sky These are the books that are written by men They've caused wars, now follow if you can
First they created sin so they could win Then they built the cages they could put us in Then they took away our tribes and gave us jail Then they took away the Earth and gave us hell
The Bible is bull****, the Koran is a lie The Bagavad Gita did not fall from the sky These are the books that are written by men They've caused wars, now follow if you can
It's time for you to love one another It's time for you to recognize your brother It's time for us to stop killing our mother It's time for us to care for each other
Please don't reverse this crap. Those children were being raised in, most likely, a similar case as Sodom. They were bound to become evil.
Yeah, like someone who was raised to think that slavery and genocide and incest were all good things.
No they were property which was beaten and overworked.
Exactly. Methuselah lived to be over 900. Then we had a decline, which was instituted by God. Then poor sanitation reduced it, but modern sanitation brought it back up somewhat.
Do you know the meaning of the word proof?
Everyone seemed to be making such a fuss about "little children being brutally mauled" that I believed it needed to be brought up.
WTF. This doesn't mean anything. I'll take this as an admission the jesus is evil.
1. Once again, they insulted God's prophet. That was a huge matter. 2. Most "young men" are morons.
I'm too young to be a young man but I know lots of people I consider non morons of my age. And God knew that this would happen.
see no proof for this whatsoever. 900's, then perhaps 40, then approx. 85 today.
proof
It is if you know what is metaphorical. Jesus spoke metaphorically. Therefore, that was metaphorical.
Yeah, like when he said I'm the son of god.
That is stupid. God created the Bible. A metaphor cannot create.
