Thanks to the Germans, we have a robot that can catch a ball in each hand more than 80% of the time.

The ball-catching robot is the third one down. I think it is amazing that we are actually getting somewhere in the field of robotics, and that America should step up it's game.

Link fix.

And Americans have been working on robots, just not ball catching ones.

I assume I should probably give examples. While Germany was working on catching balls, America is working on things like remote controlled aircraft and other military things, for example.

that's pretty cool. it takes an immense amount of coordination to catch things

I've noticed this past decade or so we really seem to be making some headway in the field. I think it's a good thing, it's been pretty stagnant for a while. Also the programming needed to allow such actions can go into other things besides robots. For example a self driving car.

I don't remember where I got it, but I heard that electronic technology gets 10x better every year.

Technology is advancing rapidly. It's kind of scary to think what robots and robotics will be like in a couple of decades. They'll be everywhere, from art to war.

But if we make AI then it'll go crazy and eeven if we rip it to pieces, and throw every piece inot a fire it'll be doing science and be still alive.

Those have been in use for some time by google.

Not until we can make computers sentient, until them AI is limited to what people program it to do.

If they name it GLaDOS for whatever reason, even if its a limited program it will break the rules of reality and murder us.

I hate Portal...its GLaDOS (Wheatley and Cave Johnson also) who keeps it going. (It excites me when she insults me...no Im joking)

In all reality, Im glad the world is moving in an advanced direction...I just hope we dont start weaponizing robots. (NOT PORTAL RELATED...those turrets are funny though) Might not end well.
