The economical mics that come with the Xbox 360 package cannot possibly be better than a $200 Turtlebeach headset. The only thing that's yucky about the headphones is the price. I've slipped one on along with the standard mics. The level of sound you hear with the Turtlebeach's is phenomenal! I do not know what happened with your headphones, but the Turtlebeach headsets couldn't possibly break more or cause static more often than the flimsy standard mics.

well youve obviously broken them by your own fault because my friends and myself have got fully functional turtle beach x11s x31s and x41s and none of them have broken.

I personally like turtle beaches alot and see no big problems with them whereas with the crappy mic it comes with they have broken on me several times.

I would buy a nice headset like a Turtle Beach, but I don't want to fork over the cash.

I've ran through 3 wired mics for my Xbox, so I just got a wireless one. That one's lasted me longer than my 3 wired mics combined.

I bought my Turtle Beach X11's for $49 off eBay and I love them! The sound quality is great, bass boost makes the explosions sound better and the adjustable chat and game volume options allow you to make your hear the game and your teammates as well. Mine is durable so far. 6 Months and no issues yet.

Guys, the wireless mics are truly the best. Just charge while you sleep, and you will be fine. I got the "official" Xbox Wireless Microphone. Works like a dream. Others are right, wireless mics tend to break.

My wireless mic has survived being completely under water. Just saying.

How do you manage to break a mic. It can't be just through normal use.

if your looking for an awesome gaming experience then of course buy the turtle beaches because they have the in game audio straight to your ear and they may break but no as easliy as the regular mic... i mean unless you like to throw mics then dont buy the turtle beaches

If you're talking about...

...one of these, I agree. They break within a few weeks of use. They are very cheap and I don't like them either.
