It has already been mentioned, but Nintendo does make a profit. Overall Nintendo has sold FAR more gaming systems than any other company.

And as for the "Wii 2", we don't know if that is what it will be. Highly unlikely to be a Wii with only more power. But I do predict some new motion or touch software being incorporated somehow...

Bioman released a link on page 1 that I think needs to be presented more directly:

Might I add that that controller is extremely sexy? It's adopting Sega Dreamcast elements, which I think is so sweet of them, just because some legacy of Sega's console generations need to be preserved. It was a good time for Sega, but no one wished to be their customers. For you graphics, pardon my French, freaks, this new console will far outshine the PS3 in power. But I suppose that is to be expected since it is a new generation console.

*eyes the controller with a disturbing sense of passion*

I'm looking forward to it when it comes out. And I heard they're building in a Movie Player into the new Nintendo Wii. And it's going to cost anywhere between 299 or 350.

I'm actually interested in this Wii 2 info. Maybe they'll actually make a competing video game system this generation. This generation was not Microsoft vs. Sony vs. Nintendo. It was Microsoft vs. Sony and Nintendo was in a whole different market (casual gamers!) and obviously did very well with being basically the only system in that field. But it's sad that this generation most hardcore gamers(except for hardcore nintendo fans, sorry but I'm not a fan of mario) were left out from nintendo games this generation. Maybe the Wii 2(or whatever they decide to name it) will actually get the games that come out on 360 and PS3. If they do, I would actually consider getting it.

It does not matter whether the concentration was directed towards casual gamers, "hardcore" gamers, or what have you; Nintendo was in the market, it dominated, and that's all that needs to be said. Why has this "casual" gaming division been given so much crap recently? Maybe not recently, but during this generation. What do we think of as "hardcore" games in relation to the "casual" division? If the general consensus is that "hardcore" games are the fast-paced shooters and the "casual" games are the laid-back adventure RPGs, then it's obvious that casual gaming dominates the scope of software by a long shot.

And we will see what silly responses will follow.

Whoa whoa, since when has casual gaming meant RPGs? I thought RPGs were included in hardcore. I meant casual gamers as someone that actually considers "gaming" to be mario games, unless of course they are hardcore nintendo fans. And I'm sorry but, Nintendo had a corner on the market in the types of games it put out. Regardless of what you call it, they put out completely different types of games than the other two consoles, to a point where you can't even compare them, besides crappy ports. Now stop being a Nintendo fanboy.

@Freakenstein Also, I was not trying to say casual gaming is bad. The only thing my post was saying is that I wasn't a fan of it. Now let people have their own opinions on what they like and stop trying to defend casual gaming from a non-existent attack.

I think they are retiring the original Wii, like they did with the XBox, and are making the Wii 2 the new Wii.

I thought hardcore gamers were people who spent more than 10 hours gaming. Mario games are pretty hardcore have you ever played Mario lost levels? No I think not.

And I'm sorry but, Nintendo had a corner on the market in the types of games it put out.

Yeah they are going after the casual gamers along with hardcore gamers what's the problem? Whats the kinetic and move than casual gamer lures?

Regardless of what you call it, they put out completely different types of games than the other two consoles, to a point where you can't even compare them, besides crappy ports.

No they don't they produce games that also attract normal gamers. They just successfully go after other gamers as well.

[quote]Now stop being a Nintendo fanboy.

Stop getting buthurt when you see someone arguing for a console they like. If you call someone a fanboy you're most likely a fanboy yourself.

Now let people have their own opinions on what they like and stop trying to defend casual gaming from a non-existent attack.

This is a forum and people can express their opinions. If you're to weak to defend them, then to bad for you. People can call out others for faulty logic anytime. If you don't like it then maybe this forum is too mature for you.

Wii is pretty poor compared to XBOX and PS3.

Different games different audience therefore not poor unless you can come up with something more comprehensive to call it out on then saying it doesn't have the same games as other consoles.

This is what you mean by casual gaming? At least my version was more broad a subject. Now listen here, Knives, and listen good. No matter what game you are playing, you are gaming by playing it. I don't feel very good about how you quoted "gaming" in conjunction with Mario games. Let's not forget that they brought us out of gaming hell, alright?

And I'm sorry but, Nintendo had a corner on the market in the types of games it put out.

And they still do, don't they? And they are winning this bout, aren't they? Yes they are.

Regardless of what you call it, they put out completely different types of games than the other two consoles, to a point where you can't even compare them, besides crappy ports.

So THAT'S how they are making sales....Because it's great how Nintendo is making unique games, games that the PS3 and the 360 do not have. Why grab the 360 for its games when the PS3 and the PC have the exact same games and vice-versa? You're helping my arguments, Knives, I respect that. Why does the library pale in comparison to Nintendo? Because the PS3 and 360 have many homologous games and few unique games. Nintendo has the opposite. People buy the Nintendo to get away from the similarities the other two consoles contain. And look where Nintendo is now: winning.

Now stop being a Nintendo fanboy.

So I'm a Nintendo fanboy eh? Actually laddie, no I'm not. I'm a PC fanboy. I am not wholly supporting Nintendo every step of the way; I'm being objective to all three console systems by bringing the Nintendo Wii up and out of its hallowed shell you guys carved. So many of you guys are putting down the Nintendo for its "flaws" without realizing so many of what's great about Nintendo, both hardware and software, is what's making it superior to the other two consoles. You guys fail to understand that Nintendo is not inferior nor is lacking in competition. What are your guy's main comparisons to the other two consoles? Graphics and lack of "hardcore games". It's hilarious, really. I could make a collage out of the nearly-exact slander the Nintendo Wii gets and it could take up 5 of the 6 collages CountingTime contains.

Wii is pretty poor compared to XBOX and PS3. Rest its soul on nitendo heavens

Nah, the Wii is pretty superior. The PS3 will have to rest its soul on Sony heavens if they don't get their act together soon. A lot of that media hype can get to the common masses, if you catch my drift.

Oh i forgot to say that Wii 2 will rock even more then first one, so compared to Kinect (which is fail) it´ll be superior. Also most of good games for XBOX360 and PS3 are also for PC.
