This topic is for the general discussion of the differences and similarities between Macs and PCs.
I personally think that Macs are better, despite their hard-to-navigate track-pad. Only one company makes their programs, allowing the computer to be faster.
PCs, on the other hand, are more prone to viruses.
Macs - Overpriced PC's. They are fast, but that's about it. I haven't had much experience with Macs, so I can't comment much about them.
PC's - Paying for something that'll last a long time and it's inexpensive.

No they're not. Anything can be prone to viruses if you have no protection, get protection and stay off infected sites then you'll be fine on any machine.

Mac's don't have anti virus software because they don't have virus's. No one has been able to make one. The only virus on mac is a text file that says "lease delete all your files and send this to someone else".

Hah! Of course they can make one. Any computer is at risk to a virus. Mac doesn't receive many due to the fact that its not that popular. It's just a fad computer that's going to die out once people are tired of overpriced hassles. Apple is going to have to stick with ipods/ipads, because mac won't last.
Exactly! If someone offered me an extremely outdated alien ware, or the best, top of the line mac.... I'd take the mac, so I could sell it and buy a pc
One of my close friends dads works at the apple warehouse, and he says that apple's come with an anti-virus preinstalled into your computer. But I guess the apple code is too random to even have viruses?
Well the reason why Macs are supposedly "better" is because they don't get viruses. Think of it this way: Windows dominates the computer market, 85% of computer users use windows. If you were a hacker, why would you waste your time getting a virus going on 10% of the computer market when you can hit the 85%?
If you spend the amount of money for a macbook pro on a PC you can get one a lot faster.
Icy uses a Mac and made a pretty epic bunny with some drawing tools that are on a Mac. Something that I've never seen made with a PC.

I doubt it because 1. You wouldn't be able to download virus's and i have never gotten a warning that a program im downloading has a virus 2. People would have found a way to access it.

That's probably the main reasons. From what i heard, one of the reasons most programs on PC aren't on mac is that mac's are to hard to program for.
