*Laughs*

There's always going to be extremists on things like this, I personally don't think it matters and will just make people take them less seriously for trying to push a ridiculous thing.

I think this is bullsh*t. Don't they have anything better to do? There are far worse things in this world.
It reminds me of some people in the EU that wanted to change the words "father" and "mother" into &quotarent".

Right, as if my possible hate towards animals would change at all if I called them animal companions. I could say my pet is a #$#$T%$. And i could just as easily say that animal is a #@$@#%#@ companion.

There will always be people trying to make our society perfect. Honestly, if they were in our government they'd ruin all the fun we'll ever have.

Second, I am sure the BDSM community would like a word with them on this.

If this was reddit, I'd upvote the living crap out of you.

How about we worry about treating humans right and then move on to pets. But dolphins are a pretty big issue. They're slaughtered brutally every year and they understand everything what's happening around them. like slaghutering humans.

I think I am going to go ask my dog what her opinion on this subject is...oh what a surprise it seems as though she couldn't care less what i called her.

Lets start worrying about the animals that actually need to be saved from near extinction rather than what we call our pets.

My pet always gets really mad when I call him a pet as I pet him. Oh, sorry, did I just say pet?

First they want rights, then they want titles, next they want the world!

No but seriously, people fight for the stupidest things.

Well everybody has to have something that they feel like fighting for.

Yeah, but that's just natural instinct. When I go hunting and snag a deer, other deer in the vicinity know that there's danger and a predator near, so they flee.

On topic. No dog or cat or any animal that I've heard about has killed itself, or became depressed over the word &quotet". The official definition of pet is a 'domesticated animal'. That is in no way derogatory or belittling. If I tell someone that they're "As fat as a cow", all the cows in the world aren't even going to turn in their sleep over it. In fact, cows can't even remember their own names, if given one, so I don't see how similes like mine could even be comprehended by a cow. This is really just pure human ignorance. It reminds me of the protestors that are saying that Osama bin Laden died too harshly because "he didn't have a gun". Give me a break

Aaaaaaand this is why I despise a vast majority of humanity. I saw this on the news yesterday. This is probably one of the most retarded stories I've ever read. Sorry morons, but according to dictionaries,

pet
n.
1. An animal kept for amusement or companionship.

Since when did humanity begin all this "sympathy" BS anyway?

It reminds me of some people in the EU that wanted to change the words "father" and "mother" into &quotarent".

You've gotta be ****ting me. Those terms are simply to distinguish gender. Removing them just makes language more confusing.

Ahhh, there is the problem![/quote]

Thanks for bringing up something completely irrelevant!

However, there is some truth to this.
Dolphins are nonhuman persons

Once again, this is foolishness. Sorry people, but humans are the predominant life form on Earth.

yes but if gay couples become common, unless you ask who is on bottom, it's tough to figure out who's the wife.

1. Marriage was not designed for homosexuals.
2. They would both be the husband. The only difference is gender.

Dolphins are sentient, intellect and, it would not shock me, practially human. As for predominant, we are a interesting blemish on this planet, no more, no less.

Sorry, but humans are predominant. We are the only technologically-advanced animal on Earth. Also, no other species has a writing system. Can you have a debate with a dolphin? Not to my knowledge.

Well of course we're the dominant, and the main priority is the preservation of our species. But dolphins have brain's like ours. killing a dolphin is almost like killing a human. It's not natural instict. It's more like
"Ahhhhh! Mom! Dad! NO!"
