how do you kill mr.tank if you need to cross the central gate to get to him and you get the central gate key from the quest you complete when you kill him???????????
All ores/shards can be mined from rocks that are generated when you change between screens (the yellow squares on the minimap). Each region has a different list of ores that it can spawn.
The shard bearing rocks are of the colour of the shard you need (i.e. sapphire=blue, ruby=red, etc). The actual shard rocks regions/zones are about halfway through the game.
