Now, I'm a great fan of Guitar Hero 3 (and I find hard difficulty quite easy), but a few months ago I bought the new 'Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock', and don't get me wrong it was a decent game, it's kinda lost it's touch. The songs have got increasingly less rock-type, the characters a bit dodgy and the star power used to give you that huge Adrenaline Rush punch in the face, but now it's kind of a ...wow star power, amazing... kinda feeling. And now apparently the whole guitar hero series has been cancelled and I'm a bit disappointed about it. What do you think?

To bad.
I am a Guitar hero fan to but in a big 5 years they throw 7 guitar hero at you so it is all the same game with different songs.
Maybe they should wait a 5 year and then throw a new guitar hero with the best songs from the past 5 years. And if that happens i am going to buy it. Even if i have to buy a new console.

To be honest, I have no idea why it went downhill. GH:WOR was, in my opinion, possibly better than GHIII. It just had great metal songs, and a very good variety. I was very upset when I found out it was cancelled.

no, guitar hero warriors of rock is the best one they have ever made.

The songs have got increasingly less rock-type,

why is that a problem? it means their songs are becoming more diverse, and anyone with musical taste should be open minded to stuff like that.

but now it's kind of a ...wow star power, amazing... kinda feeling.

that honestly sounds like a personal problem if you ask me. the star power is used the same in WOR as it is in GH3, to save your life wen you are dying and get you more points.

And now apparently the whole guitar hero series has been cancelled and I'm a bit disappointed about it. What do you think?

the reason why it was cancelled wasnt because of game quality, it was because no one bought the games. they weren't making any sort of profit off of these music games and thats why its done. DJ hero and Rock Band with it as well

Wait, I think you read me wrong. I didn't say GWOR was crap, I was just wasn't as good as GIII, considering it's the gazillionth Guitar Hero game and they've had time to think of great new additions.

and they have made great new additions. the whole star system is genious, the multiplayer is very very very very smooth, the quest mode is awesome as hell, everything thing that is in GHWOR is better then GH3. of course thats because its a sequal, but how in anyway is GH3 better then WOR.

I do agree with you on the quest mode and multiplayer are pure genius. Although I just prefer GIII, and I'm not saying no one love it, they have their right to their own opinion. We have different opinions, and there's nothing wrong with that.

I got Guitar Hero 2, played it, and never touched the series again. Okay game, but not good.

Yeah I bought GH3 and I played it all the time and got really good at it. But than I bought GH4 and I just decided not to buy or play it anymore because personally I thought it was just awful.

Quite frankly, I play the Rock Band series, made by the guys who made the 1st 2 GH's. Look at the transition from GH2 to GH3, not quality, just, feel. That was teh shift between legendary developer Harmonix, and... eh... developer Red Octane.

I feel bad for Guitar hero losing its steam over the past years, and while GH5 was a good step forward in the series, Warriors of rock was kinda unneeded (coming from a hardcore metal fan) and just feels like a cash-out for Activision.

Ah well, I guess you really only can do so much in a music game, and Rock Band 3 seems to have hit the quality ceiling. It was a fun later-00's fad, but i think it's time to tip our hats to the guitar-peripheral genre and bid it farewell.

I'm a huge Guitar Hero 3 fan too, I can play on Hard and still find it easy, so when Guitar Hero: World Tour came out I kind of had to buy it. It was a good game, and I liked the new features. Then when Guitar Hero: Metallica and Van Halen came out, I didn't buy them. But when Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock came, I thought I'd give it a go, and I bought it. It wasn't worth the money, I was dissapointed at Guitar Hero, they were so great back then, but yeah, they definitely went downhill in my opinion. ;-)

I hated the series all together so this good for me. Go ahead, criticize me. I played it a few times and felt like an idiot doing it. Sure, it is a good way to experiment, but I felt like a wannabe doing it. "Oh, look at me. I'm a rockstar!" I mean, come on, the title of the series screams that statement. Speaking of screaming, me, being a singer, hated the singing feature. So unrealistic. I'm sure Del understands, with him being a drummer and all. This goes out to all "Wannabe rockstar games." G'day.

Guitar Hero started it off, Rock Band added teh "band factor", copying the whole music ideo from GH, Guitar Hero WT copied RB with the band thing, then rock band allowed you to play with real instruments, which is what upcoming game Rocksmith will improve.

"Oh, look at me. I'm a rockstar!"

i dont think anyone good at guitar hero thinks taht they are rockstars. :P

the singing was boring really. then again im not that big on singing in the first place. just yelling really loud .

but the drums on guitar hero are actually a decent way to learn real drums. i learned how to cover a few songs from guitar hero by playing them on GH drums.
