I don't think that would fit in even the top 1,000 epic fails. I don't even think its a fail, its just clumsiness :|

One of my biggest epic fails was building a great wooden house with all the furnishings I could cleverly conjure, but to only have it burned to the ground when I try to make a fireplace where there was something juuust in the vicinity of the fire to be torched.

And then there was the time that I set trees on fire, only to have it chain to my house and be torched.

In my current world, I have a large wooden house around 55 or so blocks high, so I don't want to make a mistake that someone I know made:

He had a bucket of lava, in his all-wooden house. He attempted to put it in his chest, but he accidentally made the lava come out. Since his entire house was wooden, the whole thing burned, and nothing was spared.

Which is why I'm not going to put anything fire-related near my house anytime soon.

Whenever I have nothing to do in minecraft I use INVedit to blow stuff up... I was covering this island with 3 layers of TNT, in the middle of the process I accidentally hit the TNT.... And boom goes the dynamite. :P

Whole project got ruined and I died losing all my inventory...

You sound like an accident-prone person when it comes to fire. XD
Good job!

i am playing without invedit and my way of getting stuff is go to the bottom of the world. fill a small area with TNT and blow it up but last time i was doing it and i placed a TNT above a big gap which i was going to fill with TNT and then i was trying to remove the TNT in the same way you and i chop trees, so just by hitting it with my axe. So that day i lost my Redstone, Diamond, Iron and all of my Coal and started using INVedit

A friend I have plays minecraft alot... one of his biggest fails was creating a Nether Portal right over a cliff, when he entered, the Nether portal spawned right at the edge of a cliff that led to the largest pool of lava i ever have seen... you can imagine what happened next

Also he was mining and farming obsideon that he had found, unfortuanatly he fell into the lava that was underneath the layer ofstone...
