To avoid so many duplicate threads, please place your ideas and thoughts on a live chat system here.
Initially, we weren't going to do a live chat, but enough users asked for it that Dan has agreed, and we'll add a live chat to the system AFTER we launch AG3. It will NOT be part of the AG3 launch.
Ideas that others have suggested: - custom channels - password-protected channels - kick/ban controls - moderation controls - report a user
We don't know yet if the chat will be Flash based, Java based, or something else.
Skype does not necessarily mean video chat. Voice chat and regular text chatting is just as common. Though using Skype of AG mates mean you will have to expose your username to it, which might unlock some information you didn't want to share, at least if you are just a bit paranoid/reasonable when it comes to sharing your personal information with strangers.
this sounds like a great idea! it should definatly be like google chat, and should be available when i go to any room etc. aka it should follow me around on the AG3 site, and if i close it, it would only reopen if i wanted it too. also, there should be a page where i could chat from on AG3
In the closed beta an ignore/mute feature was on the profiles, so I'd expect them to have it back on when the site launches, and for it to work in the chat.
this looks like a good idea maybe there should be different chats for different things like walkthroughs or just for fun or like for the clans that ppl make
There should be achievements won by users, which can be later be shown on your profile. This achievements must be very complicated to get. Some examples can be as getting in the monthly top 10 of a game. Or submitting a top rated game.

That is a very good idea I was wondering about that.
