This is basically the same game as the one that has been running for quite a while, but it will be all official material, no house rules or non-rulebook sources of any kind, and I may enforce mandatory characters if things get too far out of hand (TRF has said that things were getting carried away in the other game). I also want chracter and OOC dialouge to be better managed, in other words don't fill this game up with a bunch of meaningless chatter (If all you want to do is talk about something, do it in the other game). New players are always welcome, and in fact encouraged, even if you don't own any of the books or know any of the rules. If any new players want to join, see the other game for rules, give me a race and class, and I will take care of the rest. As soon as at least 4 characters are made, this game will begin. The module I am using is a DCC, known as "The Black Pearl" (and I don't mean the ship from Pirates of the Caribbean)
Well yeah, I already knew that. You said it twice. So we have one person turn their back and the rest attack the birds? Or we just don't turn our backs on them?
That's what I was trying to tell you. I guess you weren't overcome by fail, after all...
I guess I was looking for something a little more subtle and missed the obvious. I mean, of course I read it and I knew that they only attacked when your back was turned but still... It's like this one time on Easter when I still did the egg hunt, I was so busy searching for eggs hidden under chairs and behind the TV and whatnot that I missed the one sitting right there on the table >.>
Think of how Medusa was killed.
Athena gave Perseus a mirror shield. That would be rather unwieldy though. Two people would have to stand face to face, at least one holding a mirror, and the other would have to look in the mirror to see how to attack...but as soon as one of them moved, the birds would fly away(as evidenced by the Adepte and Fist thing). They use blitzkrieg attacks.

Why not just polish the inside of a shield, turn around and attack when they do?

Wouldn't your arm/body be most of what the reflection of the shield is? I guess it's possible, but you'd have to hold your arm at a really weird angle. You could probably get maybe one or two hits in before they flew away?
I know. I have a mental cluster**** a few days ago (the day I had to catch pigs). Here is a small segment of it:
I touched the horsetrailer. It turned out that the gate of it was touching the electric fence. I jerked my hand away from it and put it on the truck. The truck was also electrified. In a desperate attempt to get away from the electricity, I jumped over the tongue (the thing holding the truck to the trailer) and in the process, my foot hit the tongue and I got shocked again...
1) Polish shields 2) Turn backs to chicken freaks 3) When they attack, turn back around and attack them Only problem is, not everybody has a shield. Oh well.
