If I lost my track on the mountains I would probably do what Christopher McCandless did. Live of the land without the omni-presence of the sick society. So in much simpler terms, I would become a caveman. Okay maybe not the prehistoric caveman, but you get my point.
If I lost my mountain trail I'd get desperate for some moments and then I would try to make a fire and save some water in the case I have to spend longer in the forest. I'd hunt an animal to eat, find a place to sleep and each day I'd try to find a way out of that place.
What if you lost the directions to a treasure chest?
to be honest i wouldn't care only because even if i had the directions i prolly wouldn't be able to get to the treasure because i have exams tomorrow and am the one who hid it duh there no money in it, just dead bodies.... o.o
If I lost the directions to a treasure chest, I'd commandeer a ship, pick up a crew in Tortuga, go to a nearby port and raid, pillage, plunder and otherwise pilfer my weaselly black guts out.
I would gather lots of pirates and tell them that I'm a priest and that the treasure chest contains the holy grail. He who finds it will be rewarded with eternal happiness in heaven regardless of any sin they commit in the past or the future. So they would find it give me the chest and be on their merry way not knowing I was lying. It's a win-win.
