I love the weather and have always been interested in it. To me, the creation of incredible storms and the patterns of heat, wind, fronts, and pressure systems in absolutely incredible, especially since many of these things still baffle humans!

I want to know: does anybody share my interest? Any other weather buffs out there? Or, some interesting story or fact about the weather?

Please, share it here!

Boring and sunny here. Yuck. However, those storms could get pretty nasty tonight (at least that's what I'm seeing)! I'm getting giddy!

-> Calling recent Weather forecasts as "Climate prediction" is wrong. "Weather" is how it is called next days weather condition and "Climate" refer to longer periods of time in a region, such as the seasons.

Very important to know.
-> Reddish sky with fog in th morning mean good weather.

That contradicts an old saying I know. "Red sky at morning, sailors take warning, red sky at night, sailors delight." Hmmm...
-> "Backwater" waves indicate bad weather.

That makes sense, as backwaters are parts of a river that are not reached often by the current. An outside force, such as wind, has to create them.

Thanks so much for translating these stories!

The weather is cold here, by the way. About 17 C. It rained by the morning and it's now "overcast".

Hmm... Maybe the meteorologists will turn out to be right, after all? :P I dislike when clouds linger after a rain. They should have the good sense to leave when the rain does.

From what I looked up, your climate appears to be very moderate, though some northern parts of the country can reach -20 C (-4 F), and the warmest parts can reach 35 C (95 F). The climate extremes of your entire country seem to be almost average for where I live.

It was hot and damp all day, now it's totally dark because the sky's covered by clouds. Though we didn't have a single rain drop here, we're right under a wall of clouds that passes through the whole country. And the really spooky part is, on the horizon I see the sky lighting up frequently, and once I even saw the lightning itself; branching, reaching to the sky, and anormally slow, it didn't make a sound. Everything's totally quiet, while the sky is flashing to the east.

Here the weather is the same as yesterday again:

Clear skies (>5% cloud) and 80F today. Nice compared to other parts of the country, but still warm and dry.

Yeah, I love playing in the rain! I don't play football, but I do play soccer, and I love--LOVE--playing in downpours.

I don't love playing in downpours but it's okay. Just because I almost slipped.

Snow, it is raining! After a cold afternoon, it's raining again! I could not enjoy that rain, however. I was taking the trash out (because of a new "trash container" law from the mayor's office) and my left slipper teared itself apart! I went to the container located at the end of the street (50m away), limping and under heavy rain.

Anyway, that story of Walking or Running on the rain helped me. I could only walk. I tried to run but noticed that the rain was falling towards the ground, so I limped 50M back home and got here almost dry. My left sock was terrible, though: I stepped on the ground with it while running to cross the road and it turned black...

The weather is sooooooooo exciting right now! A round of rain came through, and now storms behind it have strengthened and more is on the way! Some nastier storms are to the south. I saw some white (it goes red, then pink, then white for heaviness); in fact, the most white I've ever seen at once. To make it worse, the white storms are training over the same areas... There's probably some bad flash flooding going on in some of those areas. D:

Isn't that creepy? That sometimes happens here too. I'll sit outside, waiting for the thunder, but it never comes...

Pretty monotonous for you, I see. :P

Hahaha yeah, I've slipped too! I just love not having to recover my breath much after running a lot. The rain provides an instant cool-off and feels great during the process.

It's raining here too! But that stinks about your slipper. I wouldn't mind being out in a downpour, though!

It turned black?! That's odd! It must have been pretty darn wet!

It rained for, at least, two hours straight, so it was VERRAY wet. The oil-and-sand dirty asphalt didn't helped either...

Tons of lightning outside now. The storms have started yet again, and they probably won't stop for a few more hours. Every minute or so, huge bolts lace the sky. It's a spectacular show; I wish every night could be like this.

Ah. That makes a little more sense.

The lightning show continue 'til about 10pm last night, then the storm cleared out. It's still wet outside from it, though. Now it's sunny and a bit cooler outside. A very nice day so far. Too bad I have to mow. D:

That stinks. My philosophy is that if it's cloudy, it better rain, snow, or do something of the sort. :P

Some spotty showers around for me tonight; otherwise, a boring, sunny day. D:

In other news, Tropical Storm Harvey has formed. Here's a look at the tropics.

We had some nasty ones last night; the lightning was incredible. A couple of lazy storms are coming by this evening. I'd love to have them every day, though!

What's top of that list? And are you getting thunderstorms, or just rain?

What's top of that list?

70 degrees, sunny, and some wind.
And are you getting thunderstorms, or just rain?

Just rain, it stopped about half an hour ago though, we'll probably get a thunder storm tomorrow.

Oh and btw, snow is third on my list. :P
