Yea, I call him (have to spell it out) eff aye gee hag. He doesn't love it... and it's more for girls that are friends with g.ay guys.
But I also have a family full of g.ay people. And I feel that if my old south grandparents, with their super-conservative and southern baptist ways can accept my lifestyle and welcome my girlfriend into the family then anyone can. It is completely different from any thing they've experienced.
My whole family consists of ignorant hillbilly's from Arkansas, and rich smug Pollacks. I'm too afraid to even mention that I have a lady friend around them. I also support gay marriage 110%.
And g.ay marriage is just the start for me. There are more rights as a lesbian that I wish I had. Instead I have to work around laws and find loopholes. Fortunately I found a way to be with my girlfriend through all her medical ordeals if she ever has any. Because I'll be damned if someone is going to tell me I can't ride in that ambulance.
Sara and I made each other power of attorney so that we can be together like a married couple would be in a hospital or ambulance. There are actually sodomy laws in some states that will enforce them. But a lot of the other ones will stem around getting married. Tax breaks, insurance, etc. But there is a common-law marriage in Texas which we aren't far from. It only takes 7 years.
That's gotta be a huge bummer.. being as young as I am, I do not have much knowledge about different laws in certain states. But I know that if two people love each other, they should have the right to be together and have the same equal rights as a man and a woman should.
That is exactly how I feel. I really don't know what the fuss is about. It should be that simple. It is when people try to bring in morality through religion that they think they find something wrong with it.
There is actually a big law going through California right now. I can't remember all of the details, it was in my school paper a couple weeks ago. But apparently if it is passed, it could set a precedent for gay right and marriage...
I really wish I had more info on it... it was a really good article.
@ Wizard, I tried to find it, but the school paper recently changed their website. So apparently they don't have stuff archived... here are some other I was able to dig up from the web though:
As you can imagine, you should type g.ay in (w/o the period), as *** probably won't get you very far... I still haven't figured out why that is starred...
