IMO - in my opinion. I am anti-religion, and I think the idea of marriage is ridiculous. What the hell does marriage have to do with a couple loving each other?
Switchfoot, you really can't make the claim that it is better for a child to grow up with a man and woman. Think about how many single parents there are, or abusive ones. Generally when a g.ay couple adopts or chooses to have children they are doing it because they WANT children. It was a choice.
Not to mention, most of the people I know that grew up with two g.ay parents claim to have had a better life than their friends and almost all of them say the home was filled with a lot of love.
Now, I will agree a person needs both male and female role models in his or her life, but that can be found else where.

There are so many children out there who need parents, and a good home to bring them in. If it is a g.ay, but loving and stable household, why is that bad? Like Asherlee said, there are many abusive parents out there, and single parents as well. It seems better to me to be in a stable, loving household. Who cares about the orientation?
But say you were right, and the child has a higher chance of growing up g.ay. So what?
The World Events page is all about debating, and discussing issues. You are more than welcome to say what is on your mind, you just have to be ready to defend yourself ;-)
Yea, this is a tough forum we have here. A lot of us take this debating serious. I think it's great because I've learn a lot of things just reading in the forums and debating with you guys. Whenever my points are proven wrong, I just chalk it up to the game, learn from it and move on. It's not personal.
*I'm straight. *I'd be willing to lead an army of gays and pro-gay rights activists, to march on the whitehouse with guns, and take hostage every political fat cat we can find, force them to make marriage rights legal permanently, in every state, and shoot EVERYBODY who even hints a "no" in the whitehouse.

I don't have a problem with people who are anti-gay. My best friend is anti-gay. However, I DO have a problem with people who are OPENLY anti-gay. Those who go around PREACHING against gays in public, telling gays they're going to hell, and discriminating against gays, make me sick. I don't care if you're anti-gay, but be anti-gay where nobody will see you.
