The last 4 pages of this topic has gone to crap. I've never seen such an unintelligent debate. Half of what was discussed has already been discussed in this topic in detail. It's all so absurd and the logic of the arguments are fallacious and weak.
So, if anyone wants to bring something intelligent to the table, please do.
A lot of this thread is made up of the people who are the reason why people hate us Christians - they try and force their beleifs on others and hate anyone who won't agree with them. Newsflash, though - you're not going to agree with everyone. Homosexuality has been around A LOT LONGER than you might think. It exists in the animal kingdom - BUT THAT IS NOT BASIS FOR US DOING IT BEING RIGHT! There are other reasons not to stand against it, but this is not one, as we cannot base our behavior off of that of animals. Animals fight and kill each other in the wild over women. When we do that, we go to jail. But for any who are interested, here's the article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homosexuality_in_animals
Yeah...that was already brought up. But glad to see someone else out there thought of that.
Um...new, intelligent debate relating to this topic? Jeez, thanks a lot for putting that burden on my shoulders Asherlee. ^_^
I do not think this has been really fully discussed. I think, my memory of all 60 someodd pages is sketchy.
Why do you think that some state are for g.ay marriage, while others are against it? And why do you think Bush wanted to try to make an Amendment against it?
Look if anyone who thinks that he and his friends aren't gay becuase they beat the **** out of gay guys doesn't change a thing.
Anyone who feels differently should check out the book Am I Blue? It is a series of short stories about being g-y.
Congressman who pass bills about gay marriage could be gay. People who march out against gay rghts could be gay, and not to offend the christians but a preacher who states that being gay is bad to hundreds of people could himself be gay.
Devoid, this is a good area to go towards. I wish I had a good answer. It almost seems random the states that allow for marriage, the ones that allow for civil unions and the ones that are completely against. Hell Texas has sodomy laws...SCARY!
I would think that Texas would allow for gay marriage because Austin (where I am from) is right under San Diego in the g.ayness.
So, the people vote about gay rights and I can see how the southern states would vote against it.
Cali is in the middle of a heated g.ay ruling about marriage and/or civil unions.
I guess I don't have an answer...just information. I really cannot fathom why anyone would have a problem if I wanted to marry Sara.
I am sure it has nothing to do with the Bible...surely not.
The states doing their own thing I can kind of understand, because that would seem to fall under state law. But what about the Amendment from back in they day? That lost by, who wants to guess how many votes?
2.
If it got those two other votes, it would of been up for serious discussion. The adress is below.
What i'm saying is that if someone doesn't state he is gay he can move up, but not if he is openly gay. How many openly gay congressman are there?
If everyone just excepted the fact that everyone was just a little gay no matter who they where i think that the world would be a much better place
This is a passage from the first story in Am I Blue?
"SKip the first two. You're to young. It was number three i wanted to tell you anyway. we used to imagine what it would be like if every gay person in the country turned blue for a day."
Now to tell the truth if this happened then everyone would turn a light shade of blue and those bullies who beat people because there gay would have the tint to or mabey they might be gay.
Okay, I see what you're saying now, Power. This kind of relates to my theory on sexuality being a spectrum. The far left would be 100% g.ay the far right would be 100% straight. EVERYONE falls somewhere on that spectrum. You're saying that if everyone realized this, then there wouldn't be so many issues, yes?
QUOTE: "If everyone just excepted the fact that everyone was just a little *** no matter who they where i think that the world would be a much better place"
Your arguments really do not make sense to me... I don't even know where to start with these. Why should everyone go around expecting everyone else to be g.ay? It is just easier if people would accept it already.
So are you trying to say that the people against g.ays may be g.ay themselves? Because if you are, yes this is true. I am sure there are plenty of g.ay people that repress it. But I still don't see what this has to do with an argument.
