No, it's not leading to anything except me trying to prove that the parts of that religion that are telling you to be compassionate and loving have exceptions. That seems really flawed in my book.
Well, why would you not love someone? Just because they are different? Even if it is bad in your book, I really don't think it means that you should hate/dislike them.
There is also a difference in love and liking someone. I don't have to like my parents, but I still love them. (Just an example I like and love them!!!) You don't have to like a murderer, but I think you should still love them. This is pretty weird to hear if you aren't Christian, so I don't expect you to.
Why should there be exceptions? I just find it hard to believe that this country was built on equal rights. We are not following those rights very well.
You know what? We weren't built on equal rights no matter what anyone says. But you know what else? We tried to make up for it. We oppressed black people as well as our women. But we gave them their rights and now we are all on the same page. If you ask a black activists America still hates them and we are all out to get them, but that's all a crock of crap.

That does conflict with God, but he gives us the choice to follow him. It's called Free Will. If you follow him and his teachings, you will get to go to Heaven. (Sounds easy, but it's not)
I just hate talking about this if it is between two totally different beliefs. I'm not going to be converting anyone, and you aren't going to agree, so I see no point. I just don't want to start any fights
The founding fathers wanted this to happen, but that was hundreds of years ago. They probably never thought society would change like it has. WeeMan was just giving an example on rights. TR, you have to understand that proof will be given to prove a point, even if it doesn't relate to the subject directly.

Equal rights are what our founding fathers wanted to we were built on them. Also, I never even brought black rights into this. I agree that we have the same rights as them but this is about homosexuality. Only 2 states allow homosexual marriage, Maryland and newly added California I believe. We won't even let them get married!

I know he was giving some proof but it seemed like he was just trying to attack me on it. Also, different people are treated differently. I see his point but it just doesn't match well considering homosexuality is not a race.
I personally cannot wait for the statistics to come out on gay divorce. I am willing to bet it will be significantly lower than heterosexual divorce per capita.
You really aren't oversimplifying it at all chrs! You are saying exactly their reasons. They have no other reasons beside those. A real sound argument, I know, but hey!
