I'm not going to say exactly where I live, but fireworks are illegal over here. Pretty lame, considering our state is crap in everything. But, our representative just might be willing to change that. :]
I live in ireland and fireworks are illegal, but i moved to America for a while last year and experienced my first 4th July.
The law in Mane regarding fireworks is:
Exceptions: Sparklers, including morning glories, paper and plastic caps.
Title 8, Section 222 A person may not possess or have under that personâs control fireworks, unless they have a permit.
Title 8, Section 223 No person may sell or possess fireworks.
Title 8, Section 224 No person may store fireworks, except as permitted by the Department of Public Safety, State Fire Marshalâs Office.
Title 8, Section 225 No person may transport fireworks, except as permitted by the Department of Public Safety, State Fire Marshalâs Office.
Title 8, Section 226 No person may engage in the business of a fireworks display without first obtaining a permit from the Department of Public Safety, State Fire Marshalâs Office.
Title 8, Section 227 Any person, municipality or association, desiring to discharge fireworks, must apply to the Department of Public Safety, State Fire Marshalâs Office for a permit to discharge at least ten days in advance of the display.
I found that perfectly reasonable and enjoyed a great firework display put on by the state. I also went to one later on in New hampshire which was just as great.
Well, I've noticed some states I've been in on the 4th of July have fireworks going up everywhere. It's fun to drive through neighborhoods and watch them. I've also seen areas where laws are stricter, but I haven't seen to many people follow them.
In my state you can't have the big fireworks unless you have a permit. But people will just go to a different state to buy them and bring them back into my state and set them off.
