Well, I bet you can guess what this thread is about!

For those that don't know what these are:

Onomatopoeia - Words made to describe sounds. For example, "boom", "crash", "zip", etc.

Oxymoron - Two words that conflict each other, but still make sense! For example, "civil war" and "jumbo shrimp".

Pun - A play on words, meant to be funny (and often annoying).
These require a bit more of a context. Here are some I found on a site:
"I did a theatrical performance about puns. Really it was just a play on words."

[Here, the pun lies in 'lay on words', which is the definition of a pun, but also a way to describe a play based on puns.]

"Puns about monorails always make for decent one-liners."

[Here, the pun lies in 'one-liners'. This pun, in itself, is a one-liner, and it is about monorails, which are single-rail trains.]

So, hopefully this will be as successful as the Anagrams thread.

Please take time to put in a relevant response!

Again, to get things started (please label which device you are sharing):
Onomatopoeia - boom, crash, zip
Oxymorons - jumbo shrimp, civil war
Puns
