If there was an international crisis (such as the ever-popular and overused film topics like alien invasion or extreme climate change) could people of different/opposing nations be united for the same cause: Survival? or would people still be too divided on things like nationality, race, religion, etc.?
I think I would say no, but it's difficult to state an exact answer clearly when we have not been in a precise predicament such as the one first suggested. Until then we can say what we want, but it's very unlikely that unity could be found among us.
I think that humanity could unite but it would not happen in the sense that you are thinking about. Because everybody agrees to disagree I think that the worlds countries would all strive to the same goal, but not nessaceraly unite all countries so that humanity would all be together. If humanity did unite I think that it would be quite the chaotic scene. Think about it one president or king to rule billions of people? Not going to happen not everybody thinks the same way that is why there are boundaries between countries.

One president wouldn't do. If all countries united, a council of reps would most likely be used.
I think that the idea of all of humanity uniting would be a desirable outcome, but no, we as humans cannot. Our societies are too different from each, religions, and social beliefs as to how things should be done would conflict on every level. Even the way we dress would cause uproar. So, no, we cannot. Even in a crisis.
