I thought it was a brilliant movie but the hype of it being "The greatest film ever" made it seem a bit disappointing.
As for the story is stupid? It's an amazing story line. It's based on race wars, racial divide and overcoming racial discrimination. I think it was shown extremely well.
i dont know what to type...how can someone not like avatar... oh, wait! your talking about the movie? like with blue people? oh... i thought you meant the animated series... well i have the full extended version(plus 1/2 hour) i did not watch yet.
I highly disliked it. It was so predictable, it was full of cliches, and I got absolutely nothing out of it. If it wasn't for the unique visual effects, it would probably be the most boring movie I've ever seen.
I can agree with you, Ernie. Another thing I disliked about it was how the whole situation was so obviously Good VS Evil. It would have been nicer if you could sympathize and understand both sides in the conflict, even if it was just a little bit.

I though the Na'vi should have had four arms. Everything else seemed to follow a six limbed body structure.
But we never saw a reasonable species we can assume they shared a recent common ancestor with so it's difficult to say.

Eh, the bad acting and cliches plagued the plot. I would prefer to watch Dances With Wolves and day.

Me too.
I thought the movie was great when I had seen it in theaters for the first time, but after that it lost its appeal. The main thing the movie truly had going for it was the graphics.
Anyway given the proliferance of the feature it's still pretty odd. Also the way the life could interconnect suggested a strong interrelationship between everything, more so then what we have on Earth.
