Ok I have heard a lot about something called Herobrine in Minecraft. I really want to know what is Herobrine? I just want to know...
Herobrine is supposedly Notch's dead brother who shows up in Minecraft as the normal player skin, but with white eyes... its just a joke that's been going around the internet.
I heard he was real. There's a 100% chance of him spawning in your world, but since the worlds are massive, chances of finding him are a lot smaller. Just type in Herobrine in the search bar on Youtube and you'll see videos of him. He usually punches holes in mountains and will cause random waterfalls. If you try to attack him, he'll run away, and if he finds one of your structures, he'll punch holes in those as well. But I've heard he wasn't a joke.
Herobrine was made up by the Brocast (News and Media). They made a webpage telling the supposed "backstory", with a picture of him. Later they made a live stream video of him, where he became more popular. During this stream, a man was talking to his wife, who stated he was trolling. This flooded the livestream chat. The player then faked a game crash. Everyone who was at the stream was transported to a different page, filled with letters and symbols. After the non-alphabetical letters were removed, it showed a message, which kept telling them to WAKE UP.
Creepy, huh?
In any case Herobrine is fake, he never appeared in minecraft, but he is now a meme.
The "removed Herobrine" was added as a whole joke to imply that the sprite was real in the first place, when it really wasn't. Though you have to admit that it would have made for an excellent stitch if Herobrine did show up within 500 blocks of the player's spawn vicinity, right after the update that "removed" him.
