Both parties are being pretty stupid. The IRS is being stupid for charging so much on some seats. Lopez (the man given the seats) is stupid for agreeing to pay such a large sum for said seats. There's not really much else to be said about it other than "...wow."

There are some things money can't buy
For everything else, there's taxes.

Oh man. Thank you for the link.
He gave the ball back, and was hit with that?
Give me a break.

Ever heard the saying "Honesty pays"? Well, clearly the IRS haven't.

hmm, he was presented a free seat at several baseball matches, then someone wanted taxing him for that? No wai, the giver should pay, if anyone should. But the giver actually does charity, so IRS should kiss the wall. IMHO.

This is insane. He did the right thing. If he'd have kept it he'd look like an *** for being greedy.

You know, this is why I make fun of the US. Why would you get taxed on getting free stuff from returning something worth potentially 300 000$. It would make more sense in taxing the hitter for a) having a multi million dollar contract and b) for getting back such an expensive item.

Why do you guys have such morons in your government and administration?
