A new installment to Crush the Castle has been released. It's called Crush the Castle TD. If you've played it yet, what do you think about it?

As of right now, I can't tell whether it's a good game or not because It's lagging terribly even on the lowest graphic setting and I don't have a lagging problem with any other flash game.

For those who are stuck on a level: I find that the strategy of getting a smaller number of upgraded trebuchets with ice shot seems to work for getting the gold medal on almost any level. Max relevant research asap (ice shot, tower range, bigger bombs, faster fire rate), and use archer towers and research buildings to build a maze around your trebuchets.

As with most tower defense games, the best "killing" tower is the one with splash damage. Assisting towers serve to set up kills for the "killing" towers, usually by slowing, weakening, or stunning them. In this case, this is done by buying the ice upgrade at the library.

TL;DR: Spam Trebuchets to win. Put some to ice, and the rest to fire/electricity for greatest killing potential. Put some at beginning to poison if you please.

But seriously, look at the towers:

Archer Tower: Absolutely terrible, targets one enemy, low damage, highest rof, but even the single target DPS isn't great

Ballista: This would be ok, except you can't set targeting parameters (ie, put at end of a long straight and set to target last enemy so you always hit enemies in a straight line). The multitargeting abilities only work when you can fire in a straight line.

Catapault: Single target at first, decent damage, can upgrade to throw more projectiles at once. But unlike the ballista and trebuchet, it has a limited number of targets it can hit at a time.

Trebuchet: Best tower, hands down. Fairly high damage, splash damage. Splash damage works with all the library projectile upgrades too.

Wizard Tower: Better version of the Catapault. Way more damage, fires slightly slower, but overall, can't match the Trebuchet.

TL;DR #2: Buy Trebuchets

The third area is a lot harder than the first 2. Managed to beat the first 2 areas and get gold in all of them on my first try. Still trying to get gold on the first level of the third area.
The levelling up system needs a bit of work I think. And maybe adding bonus abilities to towers who get upgraded to the max.

I've found a trick to beat castles easily: I buy and built only Ballistas, I put them doing a path, I upgrade (lv.2) and add abilities (tower range lv.3, hardener steel lv.3 and trained towers lv.3). Ennemies can't resist to that.

Mazing is a little bit different in this TD but it's a quirk that works.

Finished the game today, took me a while, but finally managed to get gold on every level. Nothing really happened after I finished, though. No "hey great job, you beat the game" or anything. Is that really it?

I'm stuck on the 6th castle of Tasselvania for now.

It's too easy. Rebalancing is a must! You can beat every level with gold, by using only one tower type. But overall, a nice TD. I've finished it with the mage towers. Half of them with freeze, other half with fire. And a little hint: Use the science buildings for mazing, too. As I said, rebalancing and maybe an unlimited mode.

Yes, a "SURVIVING MODE" where you must resist as long as you can.
