The SS vs. the Japs

Actually, there was an episode in season 1 or 2 with the Waffen SS pitted against the Viet Cong (Vietnamese Communist guerillas).

Cmon Arabians... 2 Rough Riders for the shooting... and of course the man of pristine health goes against an older fatter smoker in a knife fight (in which his knife is superior) and loses. Totally biased. Leave it to DW to let a guy who captured one hill win to a man who brought a age-old empire to it's knees, just because of a gatling gun that did one kill in the end.

exactly what i thought, just cause he had a better machine gun he apparently won

also, i found the Napoleon Vs. Washington to be bull, no way napoleon lost because Washington's sword stabs more, if the really met on the field of battle, i'd be british

A.O.D Summary
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This week Deadliest Warrior pitted Ivan the Terrible and Hernan Cortes. Gettin right into it, it started in long range when Hernan's Arequebus shot off against Ivan's Piscahl. Both weapons took 2 shots to take out 3 targets. Hernan in 56 seconds and Ivan in 44. Then they shot at each other's armor, where the Pischal shot right through Hernan's steel plate armor and Hernan's Arquebus shot through Ivan's Plated Chain Mail. The edge went to Ivan for the reload time being for superior. Then swords clashed as Ivan's Sablia went against Hernan's Ropera. The first test was against a pig carcass, both with 3 killshots, then they were put on horseback against each other's armor. The Sablia went through the face of the gel, and Cortes' Ropera didn't get a killshot, edge:Ivan. Then their battle axes went against each other as Ivan's Bardiche went against Cortes' Alabarda. The Bardiche had a successful decapitation but failed to get through Cortes' armor whileas teh Alabarda got kills on both targets. Edge: Hernan Cortes. In armor, the edge went to Hernan Cortes because it had better protection against penetration. In the end, Cortes won with 2,747 kills to Ivan's 2,253. Next week ia the match-up i have been looking forward to the most. Crazy Horse vs. Pancho Villa.
Act 1 of Crazy Horse vs Pancho Villa is on the facebook page
*SPOILER ALERT*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This week on Deadliest Warrior 2 of the most wanted men in history are pitted against each other, Crazy Horse and Pancho Villa. In the opening tests, Crazy Horse's Henry Repeater was pitted against Pancho's Winchester 1896. The test was to shoot 4 targets with as many shots that the gun holds (15 for Crazy Horse, 10 for Pancho Villa) in the quickest amount of time. First up was the Henry which got 2 instant kills, 6/15 hits in 1 minutes 15 seconds and had 1 jam. Then Pancho Villa shot out 2 instant kills with 4 hits with its 10 rounds in 48 seconds. Both shot 40% and they were about to test the 2 from horseback when it ended. Tune in Septmeber 7th at 10/9c for the full episode on Spike.

Is this really necessary? We watched the episode...

And could this thread be more discussion than just announcing future episodes?

I for one though Cortez did work. ONe of the few DW episodes I did not get worked up about.

It is more. Episodes are announced, previewed, summarized, and discussed here, as well as some aspects of the show's operation. It's kind of like watching a sports game on tv with the commentators talking and then watching the post-game coverage as well (except this is way more interesting).

one major problem i had in the most recent episode was the henry rifle compared to the winchester. They didn't really take into account that the henry had 15 rounds compared to 10 for the winchester. I think that could've been a huge advantage for crazy horse.

I think if someone missed an episode instead of reading a sleep-inducing written summary they should head over to Spike.com and actually WATCH the episode.

And I mean let's debate why X should have won over Y, why this X-factor is key, etc.

well it's been a helluva season gentleman, but tonight is the finale. French Foreign Legion vs Gurkha at 9/8c then Vampires vs Zombies at 10/9c. Any favorites tonight? I personally have to go with Gurkha and Vampire.
