You can check this thread weekly for movies to watch. And if you go down the first page, you'll see a link that can let you watch the movies suggested and I posted a description on how to use said site. Hope this helps any to get you your movie fix.

I can recommend some comedies, but I don't know of any spectacular "serious" movies.
Robin Hood: Men in Tights
Spaceballs
Bruce Almighty
The Simpsons Movie
The Shrek Series

80's comedy movies are the best. So something like Revenge Of The Nerds or Ghostbusters, or better yet one of these movies.

The Godfather (Part I and Part II, part III is unnecessary)

Indiana Jones (the original 3, never the 4th. The 4th was just a bad dream.)

Lord of the Rings

Star Wars (watch in the order they were released)

Jaws

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

The Princess Bride (it sounds like the girliest movie ever, but that's like saying Monty Python and the Holy Grail is a religious film. They're both more of epic spoofs of the genres the titles typically represent)

Every Pixar film besides Cars 2 (if you can only watch one, watch UP)

Iron Man

Bill and Ted's Excelent Adventure

The Matrix (you really only need to watch the first one, the other ones just expand the plot some more, but I guess that's all any sequel does)

The Dollars Trilogy (or any other Sergio Leone directed film, he's such a good storyteller)

Once Upon a Time in the West

Air Force One (possibly Gary Oldman's best performance)

The Dark Knight

Ice Age (only the first one, the sequels were made to make money)

Shrek (only the first one, same reason as Ice Age)

Harry Potter series

National Treasure (I question my judgement to put this on the list because it seems an obvious rip-off of Indiana Jones)

The Fugitive

Saving Private Ryan

Schindler's List

Enemy at the Gates

Dr Strangelove (the best political comedy I've ever seen)

Spaceballs (the second best political comedy I've ever seen)

Men in Tights

Blazing Saddles

The Wizard of Oz

Mary Poppins

Alice in Wonderland (the animated 1951 version)

A Christmas Story

Rango (just watched it last night and it was pretty good for a spoof. so much adult humor that I'm surprised it's PG)

That's all I can think of for now.

There is just way too many movies too count that I adore. I suggest trying a month free of Netflix instant to fill your movie taste buds.

I forgot to add a few to the list:

The Iron Giant

Casablanca

The Sound of Music

Rain Man

Glory

Ferris Bueler's Day Off

Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

2001: A Space Odyssey (none of the sequels tho)

Predator (the original, the sequels aren't that great)

Jurassic Park (same warning as Predator)

Alien (and the sequel Aliens)

Terminator (and the sequel Terminator 2, which I actually like better than the original, but the other sequels are weak overall)

Rocky (the sequels are almost exactly the same as the original so viewing them is completely up to you)

I'll have to suggest Napoleon Dynamite. That is a one-of-a-kind movie that I suggest you all watch if you haven't gotten the chance to. It only gets funnier every time you watch it.
