I agree, so many movies in 3-d gets old and it jacks up the prices by $5 where I go just for a piece of plastic. Now a movie like Avatar is only good in 3-d. I tried watching it when my friend got the dvd and lost the 3-d glasses and it just wasn't nearly the same.
Because it's a huge money grab for big hollywood. everyone wants to see the cool 3-d effects and all the stuff "flying out at you" in my opinion, it's really annoying and actually hurts my eyes.
I don't think 3D movies are all that great. I mean, if I wanted to feel like I was going to get punched in the face I'd just move my fist closer towards my face. Not as cool, but it's free.
sitting in a cramped theater with a pair of glasses on doesn't sound too fun... only when they come out with actual 3-D movies, i mean like holographic projections from multiple projector units that make the movie seem real, will i go see one.
