Are you a Republican or a Democrat. Say which one you are and say why your party is better. Example. Republicans are better because they didn't put us in massive debt like the Democrats did and are continuing to do so.
I don't like to stick to a certain party, but if I had to, and if I'd be American, I'd probably be democrat. Democrats are better because they don't block the debates only in order to get rid of a republiocan president, or because they don't want to loose voters by raising their taxes, which would save the states.
thats why it's bad that they can choose only between 2 partys. there should be many more to cover evry1's believes about how things should be handled. you can't divide a whole country in just 2 boxes of people.
this way only the most charming persone will win or the 1 that makes the most of promises they cannot make true or arn't actualy behind that afterall.
I don't stick on parties but if someone asked me I would say Democrat.
As for Bravehawk's example:
Republicans are better because they didn't put us in massive debt like the Democrats did and are continuing to do so.
This is funny, because whilst Clinton killed the Debt, George Bush managed to push it up to 84% of the American GDP by the end of his term. Yes, Barack has pushed that close to 100%, but please don't kid yourself. Democrats aren't in some political agenda that is based on increasing debt and entitlements to the extremes.
I'd say Democrat, I like their current ideas on raising taxes on an income standard, at least up from the levels of the 1950's, and they don't support the stupid idea of trickle down economics, which, after 30 years of nearly no income growth we still think is a good thing to try. Funny thing to add, the Government employs many people, which might be more than we think considering the Clinton administration added around 23 Million Jobs, and the Bush government era added [not counting losses] 8 -- even with so many taxes missing. Lastly, the Republicans are just vote mongers like HahiHa said, trying to get votes by making no tax promises, and now trying to save their freshman status by not accepting anything they don't like -- effectively killing the notion that Congress is going to get anything done.
Democrats try to solve problems by throwing money at everything. I would lean more towards the Republicans, but in general I tend to be more neutral because politicians disgust me.
you can't divide a whole country in just 2 boxes of people.
Why do we have to divide them anyway, seriously sometimes this whole dividing thing gets way to out of hand. I understand that people do have different opinions, but when we start to have these government "arties" that spend more time fighting just because they are "Republican" or "Democrat" than actually accomplishing things, then it needs to stop. So yes, I am definitely neutral, I would say that I am in the "Stop fighting like idiots because of what "arty" you are and use common sense" whatever you want to call it.
thats why it's bad that they can choose only between 2 partys. there should be many more to cover evry1's believes about how things should be handled. you can't divide a whole country in just 2 boxes of people.
We have them. They are third parties. They just don't get nearly as much attention or funding as the major two. But, there are a lot of people in them. I don't like any of our parties. Let's face it. They want your money to further themselves. Politicians disgust me. I am neutral (which I guess would be considered Independent). They need to put on their big boy and big girl pants and deal with some real issues.
i also never hear about them. so it basicly are just 2 options you got. the rest don't realy count. and thats just bad.
Then your argument that the US government is flawed is a failed one -- it is not.
What you are really angry about is that the US electorate only chooses two parties -- you're just mad at the people. Its not our fault we don't vote for anybody else -- it's just tradition, that is all.
a failing tradition. i bet the americans are unwilling to look at other countrys goverments because they think that the usa is the greatests in evrything. i thought you people wanted change. but still you stay whit traditions.
is your country also going to war so often because it's tradition?
Then your argument that the US government is flawed is a failed one
how? because there seem to be others partys then the 2? those partys are only formal they can't do anything to get their ideas on the table of the president. it doesn't change anything about my argument that the us goverment system fails. these other partys are just for the show.
@kirby998 I would have to agree with you as far as media goes. "Sly Fox" is absolutely absurd. To be honest, almost all media and news outlets in America are bad. All of them take sides. Our news is the real WMD = Weapon of Mass DISTRACTION.
i bet the americans are unwilling to look at other countrys goverments because they think that the usa is the greatests in evrything.
Our Government is bound by a constitution, and we are a nation of 300 Million people encompassing a land mass the size of Europe. That being said, you can't just expect our Government to change in times of stress and copycat nations that hold no demographic relativity to ours. We're a little conceited, but we aren't retarded, sitting on some piggyback whale that has 'America r greats' written all over it. So to end that pointless debate, all I can say to you is that the US government by no means has failed yet. You're either just jealous or you think a different system is better, and that's fine.
As for the tradition of having two parties -- big deal, it doesn't mean everyone in America is conceited, we just happen to pick two parties. There is no law that says we can't have anyone from a third party -- that being said, it would be the same if a country like Norway had people that only voted for people in two parties. It wouldn't make Norway's government any worse, its the people's decision. It is, also, influenced by the Media. On that note, I agree heavily with kirby and jroyster. I wouldn't mind a news station that acts as a mass media mouthpiece for all sides possible, so people would get a bit of every thing and, with a bit of thought, be able to filter out the bullcrap.
