Old cartoons are way better than newer cartoons. Have you seen the new Spongebobs' that they put on TV? They are stupid, immature, and meaningless. Gosh... I hate the new ones... they make Patrick look like a retarded 5 year old! My brother is younger than me, so he watches cartoon network sometimes and I can't believe some of the stuff that they put on there. I think that there's one show called "Nearly naked animals" or something. What the heck!?!?! What's the point!?!?!?!

Anyway, the olds Spongebobs' were the best. I remember when Spongebob took Pearl to the Prom, and when he forgot how to make a crabby patty, and when he first worked at the Krusty Crab, and the "squeaky boots"... ahhh... those were the days...

Older cartoons are awesome, here're some of my favorites.

Back in around 2002-2005 was alright, than the cartoons turned all live action. Terrible IMO

Gah! the Spongebob clip on the previous page has been deleted. Here's the same one but this one should work.

New cartoons seem to be centered around teaching morals and creating a distorted image of the world as being without conflict. The older cartoons were all about entertainment, regardless of age. Every year these animated abominations just get worse and worse; trying to watch a cartoon with a kid is sheer torture now. Where are the subtle, but obvious sexual innuendos and mature themes we all love?

Did everyone just forget about Samuri Jack. That is a show.

Old cartoons I enjoyed watching: Samurai Jack, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Aaaah! Real Monsters!, Two Stupid Dogs, Johnny Bravo, Scooby Doo, Recess, Catdog, House of Mouse, and so many more. I can't really remember them all right now, but basically most of the cartoons that broadcasted on Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and Disney several years ago.

New cartoons are just there solely for entertainment, but all those jokes are lame. Seems like it's just geared towards people under the age of ten, while older cartoons were for everyone to watch and they actually liked them. I'm older now, but I still enjoy watching all those old cartoons. I tried watching some new cartoons, but they're just terrible.

I love that one! I also love "ripped pants" :P

When I was little, I remember watching Xiaolin Showdown (I think that's how you spell it), Scooby Doo, The Flinestones, Foster's home of imaginary friends, Billy and Mandy, Camp Lazlo, Teen Titans, My Gym Partner's a Monkey, The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, Chowder, Dexter's Laboratory, Codename: Kids Next Door. Those were the days...

Whether a cartoon is "good" or not is arbitrary (based on, imo, on taste or age). I LOVED M.A.S.K., Thundercats, He-Man etc. But if you were 7 to 14 when those shows were originally on, go back and watch them again, now. They were horrid. The "acting," the storyline, the jokes. Almost all bad. Those cartoons will always hold a special place in my heart, but you have a significantly higher percentage of good cartoons (acting/storyline/jokes, though once again arbitrary) from modern cartoons.
